The Opportunity:
We have an immediate opening in our Abbott Park, IL location for a Senior Financial Analyst.
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will provide financial planning and analysis support for Abbott’s Balance Sheet and Cashflow. It includes consolidation and analysis of Plan and Latest Best Estimates for all of Abbott Divisions and Corporate functions, as well as other ad-hoc analyses, along with preparation of ongoing monthly deliverables of financial materials for senior leadership.
The members of the Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis team are strategic business partners that deliver clear, accurate, and relevant financial information and analysis to drive timely decisions to help deliver financial excellence. The team provides timely and accurate consolidated forecasts, reports and analyses to key executive stakeholders (CFO, Corporate Controller, Investor Relations, Treasury). One of the critical-success factors of this team is our ability to anticipate the needs of our key stakeholders, adapt to a rapidly changing environment, and provide insightful analysis.
What You'll Work On:
- Perform financial planning and analysis of Total Abbott Cash Flow and Balance Sheet during Plan and forecast cycles
- Provide meaningful financial metrics (Cash Flow, ROA, ROE, Cash Conversion Cycle etc.) on a Division and Company basis to multiple end-users
- Prepare executive review packages and month-end reporting packages for Corporate Controller and CFO, including analytics as it relates to company’s financial statement of cashflow and balance sheet
- Collaborate with global division finance teams, corporate reporting groups, etc. with regards to consolidated results, analytics, and ad-hoc requests
- Continuously enhance reporting processes, tools, and insights into drivers of performance
- Support ad-hoc analysis and projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. In lieu of a degree, additional years of experience may be considered.
- 4+ years relevant professional experience required or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (mainly Excel and Power Point)
- Proficiency in Hyperion Financial Planning System (HFM) and Essbase
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrates ability to think strategically, challenge the status quo, and drive continuous process improvements
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Operates independently
- Demonstrates flexibility and adoptability to changing environment and priorities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities
- Ability to anticipate major themes in Abbott’s business as applicable to CFP&A deliverables and intended audience
