Reporting to the AVP Enterprise Project Finance, this position will lead a team of financial professionals that support the end to end support of change the bank financials for CPB and BB portfolios including the building of business case financials, plus the reporting, forecasting and planning processes for the overall portfolios.  This role would be best suited to a high performer with strong people leadership and a proven track record of working effectively with executives and key stakeholders across the organization.  Accountabilities include the following:

  • Project Finance Senior Relationship Manager supporting Canadian Banking (CPB & BB)

  • Coordinate building of all business case financials

  • Drive interaction model for overall project portfolio financials for review with Segment CFOs, Enterprise Finance and Delivery Groups.

  • Build strong partnerships and trust with PMaGs, Segment Finance, GTS Finance and other segment stakeholder groups.

  • Lead a team of Finance Managers and Analysts, providing support and mentorship to team in developing business case financials for large and complex projects.

  • Segment and Enterprise project portfolio analytics – generate and develop financial / strategic portfolio analysis & insight for various senior executive/management teams.

  • Provide thought leadership and drive change by improving project data governance & process, building stronger relationships with key business partners and the development of new value-added project analytics.

  • Create Shareholder Value by optimizing and bringing consistency to the build of project financials to help drive the right investment decisions.

  • Deliver Strong Governance and Control by strengthening the team's advisory/analytical capabilities in working with the businesses on Project Financials and enhancing controls around consistency and project data, integrity and controls.

  • Manage capacity resourcing by gaining a deep understanding of project finance volumes and supporting resourcing with effective demand management

Job Requirements

  • Ability to distill large amounts of data into meaningful information

  • Excellent leadership and relationship management skills. This role will involve exposure to executives across Finance and the rest of the organization

  • Strong, experienced people leader with experience at driving innovative change

  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills, including the ability to comprehend a situation by breaking it down into its components and identifying underlying issues

  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines, asks and priorities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Prior project finance/business casing experience would be beneficial

  • CA/CMA/CGA/MBA would be an asset

Additional Information

  • University degree with an accounting designation (CPA) or MBA

  • 5 to 7+ years professional financial experience in medium to large organization that operates using best practices and performance management processes

  • Experience performing project costing or business case functions, in a technology-based organization

  • Solid understanding of Agile, SDLC and Project Management practices

  • Demonstrated track record of leading new process creation and existing process improvement initiatives

  • Practical experience providing financial support to a project intensive organization

  • Experience using financial and Project management systems (ie. CA PPM)

Work activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week. Colleagues may spend more or less days in office as required by the business line.
