You will be part of the Ocean Cost and Trades Finance team, a diverse and motivated team which plays a central role in the transformation of the Ocean Business and optimization of our Ocean cost base. You will partner with the Head of Ocean Network Products, Africa as well as Asia Middle East and Oceania Network on driving the PnL performance management for respective trades.  You will identify risks and opportunities for the business and support stakeholders’ decision-making through data-driven insight and analysis, as well as being the mini-CFO covering management reporting, forecasting, budgeting, performance management, correct trade allocation, deep dive analysis and finance-related business support.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnering: Contribute to business cases, strategic decision making and provide recommendations for performance improvements. Own the trade performance narrative and act as a sparring partner to Business leaders.

Performance management and Reporting: Own and drive accurate, timely monthly reporting of Trade P&Ls, network and operational performance indicators. Be the analytical anchor for performance reviews; drive follow ups and gap to plan closure. Own adhoc deliverables across Ocean Network Product and support the Head of Ocean Cost and Trades Finance with memo coordination and write-ups.

Forecasting & Budgeting: Own the coordination and execution of quarterly forecasts for Africa, Oceania and Intra-Asia trades.

Ownership over Kotahi CIM performance management: Prepare calculations of monthly CIM payment to Kotahi, including securing approvals and support CIM term adjustments. Represent Maersk as first point of contact for Kotahi questions regarding CIM results or forecast.

Collaboration and continues improvement: Maintain strong connection with wider Ocean Finance community. Lead without authority and prioritize efforts to standardize processes, ongoing improvements that enhance efficiency and data integrity across Ocean Network Product.

Leadership and transformation: Be an active part of the Ocean Cost and Trades Finance leadership team, drive team engagement, act as sparring partner to team colleagues and support talent development. Foster a high-performing, inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued and everyone feels empowered to contribute.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate for the role has a background in finance partnering roles, with previous experience in driving business results through financial insights.

A bachelor’s/ master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration combined with at 5+ years of experience in Finance Business Partnering, Project Management, or equivalent.

Key competencies are:

  • Advanced financial acumen and P&L expertise. Deep understanding of financial principles, including Profit & Loss management, cost structures, and performance drivers.
  • Proven analytical and agile mindset, ability of zooming in and interpreting complex and critical details into actionable recommendations, while maintaining a strategic overview.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets are essential. Applies advanced analytical techniques to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Anticipates future challenges and proactively recommends solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, combined with integrity and a humble approach that builds strong relationships across all levels of a global organization.
  • Industry experience in Shipping or Logistics is an advantage.

You are skilled in written and spoken English. Danish is not required.
