Detailed Position Description:

Reports to the Director of Recruitment and Enrollment, who sets the strategic priorities and vision for recruitment activities. The Senior Enrollment Specialist will work to strategically implement the recruitment plan. The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies, marketing materials, prospective student programming, and events for the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE).

  • Conducts appointments with prospective students, including telephone and virtual appointments, and delivers informational sessions to increase high-quality applications and enrollment of EHE students. Designs programming for prospective students to expand understanding of academic opportunities and support effective recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborates with the recruitment director to research, develop, and implement recruitment projects and programs targeting prospective high school juniors, seniors, and transfer students. Presents at university and/or college recruitment events both locally and nationally.  Maintains knowledge of EHE undergraduate student opportunities and recruitment best practices.
  • Provides oversight, organization, and management of student volunteers who participate in recruitment events and assist with recruiting initiatives, including calling and writing campaigns for prospective students. Researches and applies best practices for engaging other recruitment staff and volunteers.
  • Partners with the recruitment Director and EHE marketing to develop marketing materials and implement initiatives, including emails, postcards, mailings, and giveaways, and manages recruitment content for the website. Maintains inventory of recruitment materials. Collects, analyzes, and reports enrollment and recruitment data as needed.
  • Acts as a team member to support all initiatives across the Academic Affairs unit as needed and/or assigned, including but not limited to recruitment, retention, student advising, and career services.
  • Other duties as assigned. Some weekend and evening hours and travel required. At all times, handles all interactions with enthusiasm, civility, respect, and professionalism to promote and create a welcoming atmosphere for all faculty, staff, students, and customers, and maintains confidentiality in all matters of business and student involvement.

Duties

  • 65% Conducts prospective student appointments and delivers informational sessions to sustain and grow high-quality applications and enrollment of EHE students. Designs programming for prospective students to expand understanding of academic opportunities and support effective recruitment strategies. Provides oversight, organization, and management of student volunteers who lead recruiting initiatives of calling and writing campaigns for prospective students. Maintains knowledge of EHE undergraduate opportunities.
  • 15% Partners with the recruitment Director and EHE marketing to implement marketing and recruitment initiatives, including emails, postcards, mailings, and giveaways, and maintains inventory of recruitment materials. Manages recruitment content for the website.
  • 15% Collects, analyzes, and reports enrollment and recruitment data as needed. Maintains knowledge of EHE undergraduate opportunities and recruitment best practices.
  • 5%Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable.
  • 4 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in student personnel work or counseling; Knowledge of University academic rules and regulations

Desired Qualifications:

Considerable knowledge or experience with recruitment, admissions, event planning, cooperative education, service learning, and community/university outreach. Able to demonstrate effective written and interpersonal communication skills, and the capacity to coordinate events. Master’s degree

Additional Information:

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $53,600 to $71,700.
