The Datacentre and Energy (DCE) team is seeking a motivated, experienced applications engineer to provide support to our power controllers (PWC) team located at ADI Limerick.

Role Overview

As a Senior Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in product development, customer success, and technical support. You will create reference designs, evaluate new products, develop documentation, and support customers throughout their design cycles.

Description of Job/ Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, bench test, and debug electronic circuits, providing troubleshooting support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Debug and resolve technical issues in new and existing designs for internal teams, FAEs, and customers.
  • Perform thorough new‑product evaluations and execute detailed test plans.
  • Develop simulation models, tools, and circuits (e.g., LTspice).
  • Create user guides, datasheets, application notes, and other reference materials.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and written content.
  • Act as a customer advocate within development teams to ensure informed design decisions.
  • Support customers through the full design cycle with technical expertise and hands‑on guidance.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work independently on application circuits for power products.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in the area of power electronics, with High Voltage experience being advantageous.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and simulation tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.).
  • Positive, proactive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with applications, marketing, field sales engineers, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of semiconductor industry experience; power electronics experience is an advantage.
