The Senior Engineer, Manufacturing Product is a senior individual contributor role responsible for driving failure analysis excellence and product reliability improvement for Cloud products. This role serves as a Failure Analysis Engineer, working closely with Manufacturing, R&D, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, and Global Engineering teams to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve product robustness across the manufacturing and field lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Failure Analysis

  • Serve as the Failure Analysis Engineer for assigned Cloud products, owning technical investigation, root cause determination, and corrective action effectiveness.

  • Lead detailed failure analysis for manufacturing, reliability, and field-return issues using structured methodologies.

  • Act as the technical focal point for failure-related escalations and cross-functional investigations.

Manufacturing & Product Industrialization

  • Support product industrialization from development through volume production.

  • Ensure product readiness for manufacturing, including BOM accuracy, drawings, specifications, and configuration control.

  • Work closely with Process Engineering to ensure effective integration of product design with manufacturing processes.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Lifecycle Support

  • Execute product engineering activities for NPI, product transfer, and production ramp.

  • Support Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Test, and Reliability in collaboration with R&D and Process Engineering.

  • Support product qualification, documentation release, and engineering change management.

Yield, Quality & Cost Performance

  • Support analysis and improvement of product yield, performance, and quality metrics.

  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for product-related manufacturing and field issues.

  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives through product optimization and engineering changes.

Cross-Functional & Global Collaboration

  • Collaborate with local and global engineering teams to support product readiness and execution.

  • Communicate technical status, risks, and data-driven recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Support alignment across functions to ensure smooth manufacturing execution.

Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS) Responsibility

  • Comply with all EHS policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Actively support EHS initiatives and continuous improvement actions.

  • Promote safe work practices and contribute to a Zero Accident Culture.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Optical, Physics, Materials Science, or related field); Master’s preferred.

  • 6–10+ years of experience in failure analysis, product engineering, or manufacturing engineering within high-tech manufacturing environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience in failure analysis techniques, root cause analysis, and corrective action validation.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing issues, reliability testing, and field-return analysis.

  • Background in optical, photonics, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing is strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

  • Effective communication skills in English and ability to work in a global team environment.
