GN

Senior Embedded Architect

Copenhagen Full time

Join the world’s oldest start-up and turn up the volume on your career

As Embedded Software Architect in our Headsets R&D department, you will contribute to our purpose of Bringing People Closer. You will help shape the software platforms behind our Jabra enterprise headsets and speakerphones and play a key role in how we design, build, and evolve embedded software for current and future products.

You will be part of the embedded software team of highly skilled engineers. Together, you will be responsible for the specification, design, implementation, and testing of embedded software for GN Audio’s Enterprise Bluetooth, DECT, and USB products.

The team you will be part of

You will join our Headsets R&D department in Ballerup and work closely with colleagues across embedded software, hardware, acoustics, product management and other functions.

Our team culture is open, collaborative, and solution‑oriented. We share knowledge, support each other, and value diverse perspectives when solving complex engineering challenges. We aspire to continuously improve our ways of working and to create an environment where people can grow, learn, and do their best work.

Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:

  • Design and evolve the software architecture for our embedded headset platforms together with our embedded development teams.

  • Work directly with teams from early requirement discussions through implementation, ensuring efficient, high‑quality, and reusable software that meets real‑world development needs.

  • Contribute to continuously improving our software development lifecycle (SDLC), including how we structure and document requirements, define interfaces and design guidelines, and apply modern development practices.

  • Help teams work effectively with a large chip‑vendor–provided SDK, ensuring robust integration, maintainability, and scalability across product platforms.

  • Act as a technical coach and ambassador for good software design and modern SDLC practices, facilitating architectural discussions and aligning stakeholders across disciplines.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and pragmatic way, and support the mindset shift needed to consistently deliver scalable, high‑quality software.

  • Stay up to date on developments in wireless technologies, software engineering methodologies, and related technologies, and provide recommendations on how to apply them to improve product performance and functionality.

You will make life sound better through products like the Jabra Evolve2 Buds and Jabra Evolve2 65 Flex.

To perform well in the role, we imagine that you:

  • Have a background that has given you solid experience with embedded software development and software architecture through engineering, computer science or similar education and practical experience.

  • Are comfortable working with C and embedded systems on smaller microcontrollers, including building architectures with clean interfaces and modular designs.

  • Bring broad knowledge of embedded product development, operating systems, and microcontrollers.

  • Have experience with Bluetooth, BLE, and LE Audio, or are motivated to build this skill set.

  • Enjoy working closely with development teams and stakeholders, acting as a sparring partner and technical coach.

  • Communicate clearly in English, both in writing and in speaking, and be comfortable working in an international environment.

At GN we pride ourselves on encouraging flexible working whenever possible. We trust our people to fulfill their responsibilities, to know when in‑person collaboration is better than hybrid, and to be present when it’s needed most.

We encourage you to apply

Even if you don’t match all the above‑mentioned skills, we welcome your application if you think you have transferable skills. We highly value a mindset and motivation that align with our core values, to not only ensure growth for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.
