Position Overview: The Senior Electrical Technician position will be part of the product development team, supporting the design and test efforts of the cross-functional team. The new product development team designs innovative products for the card personalization business. You will have the opportunity to develop electronics used in printing, smart card, RFID, motion control and laser technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify electrical control equipment and circuitry.

  • Assembles and tests motor control devices, circuits, sensors, cables, and other electrical equipment and components according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles.

  • Diagnoses cause of malfunction or failure of circuit boards and/or electrical equipment.

  • Develops wiring diagrams, schematics, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for electromechanical equipment.

  • Fabricates cable harnesses and circuit board assemblies

  • Sets up standard test apparatus and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production boards or equipment.

  • May operate bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts, such as coils, terminal boards, brackets, and chassis.

  • Researches and selects components for electronic designs.

  • Documents and releases components, assemblies, test processes, and other product changes.

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of processes, practices and standards.

  • Continuously improve work processes to enable team efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 year technical degree, or comparable training, such as a military electronics program.

  • 5_+ years of technician experience

  • Experience working on electromechanical equipment

  • Proficient using schematic capture and/or layout tools (such as Mentor Graphics)

  • Experience with PLM software documenting components, parts and processes

  • Shows strong problem solving skills.

  • Exhibits a high degree of initiative.

  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

  • Skilled with schematic capture and/or layout Tools.

  • Experience with prototyping hardware/software (Adruino, mbed, etc.)

Where You Will Be: This role is fully in-office, requiring five days a week onsite at one of Entrust’s offices in Minneapolis, MN as specified in the job description. Entrust operates with a distributed workforce, and this position is aligned with our in-office product development teams.

Compensation Range:


The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $24.59-$36.06 per hour (in the primary posting location). Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience. This position is also eligible for the company’s discretionary annual incentive plan. In addition to your pay, Entrust offers eligible colleagues and their dependents comprehensive health and well-being programs which include medical, vision, dental, a generous 401(k) matching contribution, life and disability insurance, mental health coaching, virtual fitness programs, paid personal time off plus 12 paid holidays, parental leave and education reimbursement.
