Senior Electrical EngineerDue to continued growth, KBR Perth is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with experience in infrastructure (transport, port, defence and resources) to lead and contribute to design and implementation projects across Australia.
This role will suit a Senior Electrical Engineer who thrives in a collaborative, high‑performance environment. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver concept and detailed designs, provide construction support, and contribute to effective design management. You will apply relevant engineering standards, identify new opportunities, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
Success in this position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, prioritise multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate effectively while fostering a cooperative and solutions‑focused approach with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage in engineering projects, including concept, detailed design, construction support and commissioning related to the electrical discipline.
Develop and review electrical designs for LV power system (e.g. Single lines, schematics, layout, GA, cable/equipment schedules).
Develop engineering documents including scopes of works, calculation, drawings mark-ups, datasheets, calculation, design report etc.
Interfacing with multidisciplinary internal/external project team, client and supplier to ensure compliance against relevant standards, project’s basis of design document and functional specification.
Involve in tender process for preparing bid documents, identifying deliverable list and bid proposal.
Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
Seeking candidates with over 8 years of professional electrical engineering experience in consultancy, utilities, mining, or resources sectors.
Previous experience with power distribution designs including switchboards, distribution earthing/bonding, cable sizing and load assessments.
Ability to perform power system analysis (i.e. load flow, fault level, protection and Arc Flash studies utilising ETAP or PTW electrical software to assist with general electrical designs.
Previous experience with lighting design for transport or public infrastructure and exposure to transport ITS design & integration (i.e. field devices, comms, networking fundamentals, cabinet design, and power) is advantageous.
Familiarity with rail electrical design, standards and regulations for LV power, lighting, and ancillary systems is desirable but not essential.
Design knowledge of applicable codes and standards (both Australian and international).
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, able to effectively communicate and work with team members, clients, internal and external stakeholders.
Applicants must currently reside in Australia and hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship.
