Kassel Full Time
Join Axon and be a Force for Good.

At Axon, we’re on a mission to Protect Life. We’re explorers, pursuing society’s most critical safety and justice issues with our ecosystem of devices and cloud software. Like our products, we work better together. We connect with candor and care, seeking out diverse perspectives from our customers, communities and each other.

Life at Axon is fast-paced, challenging and meaningful. Here, you’ll take ownership and drive real change. Constantly grow as you work hard for a mission that matters at a company where you matter.

Your Impact

We build mission-critical counter-UAS hardware to protect airspace worldwide. As a Senior Electrical Engineer in Kassel, you take technical ownership of real hardware — from architecture to lab bring-up to production. You combine deep hands-on engineering with technical leadership, helping shape both our products and the way we build them.

What You’ll Do

  • Own electrical system development from concept through prototype and production.
  • Design and review high-speed PCBs (CPU, FPGA, DDR, mixed-signal).
  • Drive signal integrity, power integrity, EMC, and stack-up decisions.
  • Be hands-on in the lab: board bring-up, rework, debugging, and measurements.
  • Define and own electrical interfaces and cable harnesses:
    • connectors, pinouts, power & signal allocation
    • grounding, shielding, EMC-robust wiring concepts
  • Work closely with mechanical engineering on cable routing, strain relief, packaging, and ruggedization.
  • Design and validate power systems (DC/DC, sequencing, protection).
  • Support embedded hardware bring-up with firmware teams.
  • Debug complete systems — PCB ↔ cable ↔ subsystem — not just single boards.
  • Act as a technical mentor, sharing knowledge and best practices across the team.
  • Contribute to design reviews, guidelines, and engineering standards.
  • Support prototype builds and transition designs into production.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Strong experience in high-speed hardware design (CPU, FPGA, DDR).
  • Solid understanding of SI, PI, and EMC.
  • Proven hands-on lab experience and system-level debugging skills.
  • Experience with cable harnesses, connectors, shielding, and grounding.
  • Proficiency with Altium Designer or comparable tools.
  • Experience guiding others through reviews, knowledge sharing, or mentoring.
  • Practical DFM/DFX mindset and production awareness.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys ownership, collaboration, and technical depth.

Work Location: This role is based out of our Kassel office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. We believe that connection fuels innovation, and our in-office culture is designed to foster meaningful teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.

Don’t meet every single requirement? That's ok. At Axon, we Aim Far. We think big with a long-term view because we want to reinvent the world to be a safer, better place. We are also committed to building diverse teams that reflect the communities we serve.
