Just imagine your future with us…
At Aurecon, we see the future through a very different lens. Do you?
Innovation, digital engineering and technical excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Are you excited about shaping the future of critical infrastructure?
Are you driven by the opportunity to work on some of the most complex, high-availability data centre projects across the region and to learn from the best? We are.
Diversity is embedded in everything we do. We work together to create a culture built on respect, trust, and inclusiveness. Our differences fuel our creativity. We embrace flexible working and are always open to discussing your individual needs, so you can create an experience that works for you.
What will you do?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centres to join our Perth office.
In this role, you will immerse yourself in the mission-critical world of data centre engineering, working across high-tier facilities for hyperscale clients, colocation providers and large enterprise operators. You will play a pivotal role in delivering resilient, energy-efficient, scalable electrical systems that underpin some of the most demanding digital environments in Australia and beyond.
You will work closely with experienced technical leaders, influence design direction, and contribute to projects across multiple geographies. As a senior member of the team, you will mentor junior engineers, engage directly with clients, lead workshops, and be involved nationally on our Data Centre projects.
We are currently delivering landmark data centre and mission-critical programs across Technology, Defence, Energy, Resources and Aviation sectors—giving you the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure.
Here are the key things you will need to ‘bring ideas to life’:
Demonstrated experience in data centre electrical design, including Tier III or Tier IV facilities (Uptime Institute exposure highly regarded).
Strong technical capability in HV/LV distribution, generator systems, UPS and battery energy storage, earthing, fault studies, ARC flash analysis, and redundancy/resilience planning.
Experience with power modelling, load analysis, and energy efficiency strategies for mission-critical facilities.
Understanding of AS/NZS standards, critical infrastructure guidelines, and global data centre design practices.
Ability to engage confidently with hyperscale clients, operators, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to translate technical detail into client-focused outcomes.
Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, coordinate packages, and manage project deliverables.
Proven experience contributing to proposals, bid support, or securing repeat work through excellent client service.
Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering (Chartered status or working toward is highly regarded).
We know today’s complex challenges can only be solved by bringing together diverse teams from across our business. You’ll have opportunities to apply your skills to projects across Australia, New Zealand, and beyond, helping shape the next generation of critical digital infrastructure.
