Senior Distribution Center Operations Manager

CVS Health has invested in state-of-the-art technology, including a warehouse management system and pick-to-light systems. A high-performing manager may have opportunities to travel to other DCs to share or learn best practices. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred, and CVS Health will support certification for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead with a data-first mindset; analyze operational metrics to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Manage and make strategic decisions on a multi-million dollar P&L budget.
  • Drive operational efficiencies through a lean environment.
  • Develop and execute a CI roadmap with defined action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Lead with a SQIDCP focus: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Influence and execute strategic initiatives that encourage innovation and systematic improvement.
  • Build and implement processes and KPIs to support staffing models and operational efficiency.
  • Manage cross-functional initiatives and delegate tasks effectively to meet production goals.
  • Foster a culture of employee engagement, development, and retention.
  • Partner with Store Operations, Opex, IQC, and other support teams to align operational goals.
  • Approach operations with a customer-first mindset focused on store delivery and service excellence.
  • Develop robust operational plans that yield measurable results and build performance metrics.
  • Manage transportation vendors and ensure delivery performance against key metrics.
  • Create and optimize delivery routes, cube utilization, and on-time delivery planning.
  • Collaborate with Store Operations and routing teams to enhance delivery schedules and dispatch efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with vendor contracts and drive improvements in KPIs and cost savings.
  • Plan, organize, schedule, forecast, and coordinate work to meet production schedules and service levels.
  • Review and act on production, quality, and operational reports to ensure high service levels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance performance, service level, and cost-per-piece.
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets.
  • Administer policies and procedures fairly and consistently.
  • Promote safety and security awareness across all teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (FDA, OSHA, DEA).
  • 5+ years working with third-party vendors and outsourcing.
  • Willingness to travel to other DCs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and develop strategies based on insights.
  • Innovative thinker with a track record of improving processes and reporting.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Education:

  • Verifiable High School diploma or GED required.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
