As a Senior Director, Statistics, you'll leverage your extensive experience to independently guide a biometrics team in delivering impactful project and technical activities. Whether it's design, delivery, interpretation, or regulatory submissions, your leadership will ensure Biometrics input and support for projects. You'll also spearhead statistical innovation across the business unit, driving methodological advances that shape the future of healthcare.
 

Accountabilities:
The accountabilities for the Senior Director, Statistics leading projects are:
- Lead, manage, and develop a group of statisticians
- Ensure proper management of SHE risks, incidents, reporting, follow-up, and improvements
- Provide leadership to biometrics staff worldwide
- Ensure successful delivery of drug projects by leading biometrics support and strategy
- Guide staff on product standards and external regulations globally
- Develop contacts with international opinion leaders, consultants, and collaborative groups
- Provide leadership and direction to improvement projects/activities/initiatives
- Lead Biometrics resourcing for project delivery and internal vs outsourcing input
- Maintain awareness of new methodologies, therapy area advances, and implement them
- Represent AZ and Statistics to Health Authorities and Reimbursement/Payer Organizations for specific projects
- Demonstrate competent program and project leadership

The accountabilities for the Senior Director, Statistics leading the statistical innovation area are:
- Lead, manage, and develop a group of statisticians
- Develop strategy and actionable plans for future business needs
- Identify and drive development of leading-edge statistical methodology and best practices
- Deliver overall analytics strategy and provide senior-level technical expertise
- Develop statistical innovation skills and staff, including recruitment
- Foster collaborative relationships with the external scientific/academic community
- Support development and maintenance of tools and processes meeting regulatory requirements
 

Essential Skills/Experience:
- MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (containing a substantial statistical component), or recognized equivalent to stats MSc
- Track record of background in leading independently
- In-depth knowledge of technical/regulatory requirements with experience in pharm/healthcare
- Exemplary technical skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships
 

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Managerial experience
- Excellent collaboration required – needs the energy to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally
- Vision – keen awareness of R&D priorities in order to apply novel solutions to scientific problems
- Travel – willingness to travel domestically & internationally

The annual base pay (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from 217,705.60 - 326,558.40 USD Annual. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives—an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles. Benefits offered include qualified retirement programs, paid time off (i.e., vacation, holiday, and leaves), as well as health, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
