The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economic consulting firm, is looking for a Senior Director of Information Technology to join our Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C. or Chicago office.

The Brattle Group is looking for an experienced Senior Director of Information Technology to lead our global Information Technology (IT) function. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and serving as a member of the firm’s leadership team, the Senior Director of IT will set and execute a forward-looking technology strategy that enables Brattle’s growth, strengthens operational excellence, and enhances the experience of our staff and the services we deliver to clients.

The Senior Director of IT will align technology investments with business priorities, help drive the firm’s digital transformation, and ensure a secure, scalable, and resilient technology environment. This role requires a leader who can balance innovation with risk management, translate business needs into technology solutions, and position IT as a proactive partner to the firm.

Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop and lead the firm’s global technology strategy, ensuring technology investments and capabilities support the firm’s long-term business strategy and growth objectives.
  • Identify and champion technology-enabled opportunities that enhance efficiency, innovation, and scalability.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technology trends, evaluating their potential impact on the firm’s operations.
  • In close partnership with other firm leaders, guide digital transformation initiatives by leveraging cloud computing, AI/ML technologies, and other emerging innovations to enhance efficiency, scalability and client service delivery.
  • Provide oversight of the design, delivery and continuous optimization of a secure, reliable, and scalable global IT infrastructure through senior IT leaders.
  • Guide the evolution of enterprise systems and business applications to improve operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard the firm’s data, systems, and client information in a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards, including GDPR, NIST 800-171, SOC 2, and ISO27001.
  • Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks to align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Lead regular risk assessments, including threat monitoring, incident response, and ongoing control enhancement processes.
  • Ensure disaster recovery and business continuity plans are well designed, tested, and continuously improved.
  • Advance enterprise data, analytics, and reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • Inspire and mentor a high-performing IT leadership team, delegating operational ownership while maintaining strategic direction, governance, and performance accountability.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership, providing guidance on technology investments, emerging trends and risks.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across IT and the broader firm.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and client needs, ensuring technology solutions align with broader organizational goals.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. Master’s degree or relevant Information Technology certifications are a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ experience, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role in a fast-paced professional services or similar environment.
  • Minimum of 10 years in a leadership role with demonstrated ability to develop and retain people.
  • Proven success in implementing IT solutions, including ERP and CRM systems.
  • Strategic leadership experience in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, with the ability to help define and execute an enterprise AI strategy aligned with business objectives and digital transformation priorities.
  • Considerable track record leading cybersecurity initiatives and ensuring data integrity.
  • Expertise with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), cybersecurity frameworks and enterprise architecture.
  • Prior success building and scaling IT functions.
  • Proven success in a highly collaborative and consensus-driven organization.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • High-level understanding of Microsoft-based environments, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Exercises appropriate judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to be a hands-on leader.
  • Learns quickly and adapts to a growing and changing environment.
  • Travel, and off-hour work, are required on an as-needed basis.

Brattle offers a competitive benefits package, base salary, and bonus program for eligible roles based on individual and firm performance. The anticipated base gross salary range for this position in New York City is $275,000 - $300,000 annually.  Actual salary will depend on a variety of factors, including experience and training.
