About the Team
As a member of our diverse and skilled North America Solution Consulting team, you will lead our industry-verticalized Forward Deployed Experience Solution Consulting team. Your teams will partner with current customers and prospects to discover and build solutions that drive unique business outcomes delivered by Workday’s AI offerings. It is this team's job to bring the value of Workday solutions to life and showcase how the world of work can be transformed with Workday AI. This team sits at the exciting intersection of our Sales Organization, Product & Technology, Solution Architecture, Consulting Services, and Value Management teams. This position offers significant exposure across various critical areas of the business.About the Role
This role is a field leader and will be a key member of the Growth and Customer Experience Leadership and the NA Revenue leadership teams. The successful candidate will be focused on world-class deal execution while challenging the team to bring creativity and innovation to every engagement. The role will require strategic leadership, process leadership and people leadership. It also requires a change agent who demonstrates the ability to challenge the status quo by asking “why” questions and by driving continuous improvement. In addition to customer engagement, you will be responsible for hiring and retaining top talent. You will assist your team in growing their careers as well as coaching them on the execution needed in their role.
Serve as a strategic problem solver; articulating a compelling, long-term vision for the future of the Forward Deployed Experience teams, successfully positioning the transformational impact of Workday AI solutions and inspiring others to action
Engage and align with other Solution Consulting, Value, Industry and Global Demo Readiness teams to ensure collaboration and sharing of methodologies that allow for efficient execution and innovative deal support
Collaborate cross-functionally (sales leadership, solution consulting leadership, partners, HR, Finance, sales and SC enablement, solution architecture, product management, marketing, product, AI strategy, partners and aligned organization leads) by active listening and working together to create and implement scalable plans
Meet with key channel partners, system integrators, customers and internal teams
Lead communication, coordination and alignment of Solution Consulting plans and programs
About You
The Director of Forward Deployed Experience Solution Consulting is a leader with tremendous drive, intelligence and capability. They will be highly motivated to have an impact on the future of the business in partnership with sales leadership. They are a multi-dimensional problem solver with a deep understanding of AI and Workday AI solutions. They have built and led large complex teams across growth markets with a proven track record of driving innovation, collaboration, scalability and innovative thinking.
Deep experience with HR, Financials, Analytics and Platform technologies with a particular focus on AI
Strong familiarity with Workday Platform, including Workday Human Capital Management and Workday Financial Management
Strong track record of exceeding company sales quotas in a complex sales environment
Proven leadership ability to inspire, influence, mentor and empower teams to achieve objectives
Experience developing and delivering on a Solution Consulting Go-to-Market plan to expand into new markets, guide maturity and drive continuous innovation
Hiring and retaining top talent while proactively managing performance to ensure coverage, career advancement and effective succession planning
Providing exemplary leadership with people and culture at the core
Commitment to a performance-focused culture of accountability and transparency; establishing metrics to measure results
Ability to build coalitions and rally support cross-organizationally
Willing to travel as needed; travel up to 50%
Basic Qualifications
10+ years of experience in a leadership position, ideally with experience leading a solution consulting organization within an enterprise organization
6+ years of Workday Platform experience
8+ years of relevant AI experience
Other Qualifications:
AI Evangelist: Deep curiosity for the evolving AI landscape (Agents, LLMs, RAG) and the ability to translate technical breakthroughs into business value
Proven success in leading large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives
Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with and engage executives, colleagues and cross-functional teams and third parties.
Excellent active listening and C-level written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of team members and audiences
Consulting expertise including current state analysis and recommendations including use of architecture diagrams, technology roadmaps, and business cases
Deep understanding of Workday products/services and the ability to identify customer needs, deliver compelling presentations, and effectively address inquiries to drive sales growth.
BS in Business, Technology, Data Science, General Management; MBA preferred

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
