As the Senior Director of Wealth Management Client Systems and Onboarding you are accountable for the Wealth Management Client System of Record (SoR) and end-to-end lifecycle of the onboarding journey. You will have accountability of the technical integrity, regulatory compliance, and high-performance delivery of the platform with integration across multiple technology partner groups. You will also drive cross-functional collaboration between Business, Operations, Information Security, Enterprise Technology, and Compliance to align technology investments with strategic priorities.
In this role you will lead and mentor a dynamic 70+ person multi-disciplinary team spanning Development, DevOps, and Business Systems Analysis, enabling strategic initiatives and fostering a high-performance culture centered on precision, innovation, and regulatory excellence.
What You Will Do
- Client System of Record Custodianship - Maintain absolute accuracy and immutability of the Wealth Management Client SoR, ensuring every account record, transaction, and client profile is audit-ready 24/7/365
- Implement enterprise-grade data lineage and traceability protocols, documenting the origin and transformation of data to withstand OSFI, CIRO, and FINTRAC regulatory examinations
- Oversee modernization of the core ledger environment, transitioning legacy mainframe infrastructure to high-availability cloud architectures (Azure/AWS) with zero downtime migration
- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks that protect System of Record integrity during high-velocity updates and complex integrations
- Digital Onboarding & Client Lifecycle Transformation - Lead technical delivery of the Wealth Canada onboarding suite, sustaining 99%+ digital adoption rate and maintaining <24-hour onboarding cycle time for complex clients
- Transform client maintenance from manual operations into automated, self-healing data workflows, delivering 80%+ time savings for advisors and operations teams
- Ensure seamless flow of client record updates into the System of Record with zero manual intervention
- Deploy Agentic AI within the development lifecycle to automate code quality checks, compliance monitoring, and governance controls, with targeted productivity gains across the delivery
- Direct the hybrid Business Systems Analyst (BSA) group to bridge high-level Wealth business requirements with deep-tier infrastructure engineering specifications
- Manage $20M+ annual technology budget and drive cross-functional collaboration between Wealth Business Operations, Information Security, Enterprise Technology, and Compliance to align technology investments with strategic priorities
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline
- 15+ years’ technology leadership in Tier-1 financial institutions, including experience in a senior leadership role with accountability for large teams and significant budgets.
- Proven track record owning mission-critical Systems of Record and complex data migration programs
- Demonstrated success leading large, complex technology organizations across development, DevOps, and business analysis functions
- Deep experience implementing enterprise-scale DevOps, CI/CD, and automation frameworks
- Expert-level knowledge of data governance, system architecture, and high-availability infrastructure design
- Understanding of digital onboarding platforms and customer lifecycle management systems
- Knowledge of OSFI E-13, CIRO rulebook, AML/ATF regulations, and System of Record compliance requirements, with an understanding of regulatory reporting requirements (FINTRAC, OSFI) and control automation
- Strategic executive presence with ability to communicate complex technical topics to Board and C-suite audiences
- Proven ability to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and drive large-scale transformations
- Strong budget management, P&L accountability, and resource optimization experience
- Change leadership skills and ability to influence across organizational boundaries
- Mentoring and talent development track record
Nice to Have:
- CISA, CISM, or CISSP designations highly desirable
- MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification preferred
