What we are looking for:
Fiera Real Estate is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development and Investor Relations to strengthen and expand institutional relationships with both existing and prospective investors, while also leading the firm’s traditional marketing and client services function within the broader internal distribution network. The role will be responsible for maintaining strong coverage of the existing base of institutional investors, investment consultants, and key stakeholders, while responding to the evolving needs of major global investors, including sovereign wealth funds, financial intermediaries, and government pension plans. The successful candidate will be a natural and diplomatic leader with experience managing a small team and will provide effective coaching, delegation, and mentorship to two direct reports.

Your responsibilities:
- Support of fund management pertaining to client retention, crossing selling, and maintenance (Advisory Committee meetings, AGM, investment consultant relationships/ DD meetings)
Investor Relations
- Oversight of client reporting (quarterly, ad hoc RFP/DDQ, Juniper Square on-boarding/client portal, client meetings and presentations, external collateral development/management (fact sheets, media, white paper distribution, etc.), data management pertaining to external consumption
- Onboarding and subscription agreement process, ongoing client communications, quarterly meetings, Limited Partner Advisory Committee (LPAC) meetings, and plan for Annual General Meeting (AGM)
- Investor queries and coordination with the real estate legal and compliance teams, accordingly
Business Development
- Liaising and educating/informing global offices our Canadian products, continued harmonizing of client relationship development with sales and distribution team and independent relationship building.
- Main point of contact and liaison to the four regional Fiera distribution teams in Canada, USA, EMEA and Asia. Serve as a resource to real estate product and management practices for investors
- Insight into key capital raising conferences
Product Specialist
- Main point of contact with Fiera Capital Corporation (FCC) for all RE inquiries
- Request for proposal (RFP) completions and preparation of materials for internal training purposes for # products
Fundraising
- Oversight of support requirements for the global distribution teams, monitoring progress of fundraising and pipeline of available capital
- Management of co-investor relationships, development of key Limited Partner (LP) relationships, and development of consultant relationships with direct real assets teams associated with researching managers
- Collaborate on strategy, opportunity identification and sourcing
- Support of fund management work that pertains to client retention, crossing selling, and maintenance (AC meetings, AGM, consultant relationships/meetings)
- Other duties and projects as required including use of Utilizing CRM systems to track contacts, manage interactions, and identify potential new sources of capital
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
- 10 years of experience in developing institutional relationships within the Canadian real estate space
- Experience executing best practices relative to marketing and communications strategies
- Working knowledge across a variety of real estate products and strategies
- Well respected within the real estate community and investment management industry, with the capacity to develop meaningful relationships with a broad spectrum of investors, consultants and key decision makers
- Experience and knowledge of the real estate capital markets and various property sectors in which the firm’s clients invest
- A passion for real estate and the capacity to dive into asset level details
- Working experience in a real estate investment manager, real estate investment trust, a consulting firm, investment bank or possibly an LP
- An entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated in sourcing and structuring capital to sustain company growth
- Exceptional presentation skills, complemented by polished written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of French is an asset
- Experience with Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all financial information disclosure and trading practices adhere to relevant securities laws and requirements.
- Team-oriented, bringing a collaborative approach to client development and management
- Resourceful and ability to work across functional groups and build consensus
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, economics, business or a related/equivalent field. An MBA is preferred. Some travel required.
