Role Overview:

In this role, you will lead the development of comprehensive brand and corporate guidelines for some of the world’s leading global brands across corporate, FMCG, and retail sectors. As a key member of the Guidelines team within the Global Design Studio (GDS), you will translate brand strategy and design systems into clear, structured and highly detailed guidelines that ensure consistent implementation across global markets. You will play a critical role in defining how brand identities are documented, applied and extended across a wide range of use cases. Working closely with Design Directors, strategists, and design teams, you will bring a strategic and analytical approach to guideline development, ensuring that complex brand systems are communicated in a way that is logical, scalable and easy to implement. This role requires a highly organised and detail-oriented designer with strong typographic, editorial and systems-thinking capabilities, combined with the ability to guide projects, mentor junior designers and maintain the highest level of craft and precision.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the development and production of detailed brand and corporate guidelines for global and regional brands across multiple sectors.
  • Translate brand strategies, visual identities and design systems into clear, logical and comprehensive guidelines that can be implemented across diverse markets and platforms.
  • Advise design and artwork teams on required brand master assets, ensuring all necessary elements are prepared and resolved before guideline development begins.
  • Analyse brand systems and determine the most effective structure, hierarchy and content required for each guideline document.
  • Design and build guideline frameworks using existing templates while elevating page layout, editorial structure and visual clarity.
  • Develop detailed visual examples demonstrating correct application of brand assets across multiple touchpoints and use cases.
  • Ensure all guideline content is precise, consistent and aligned with the core brand strategy and identity system.
  • Anticipate potential implementation challenges and proactively propose solutions that strengthen clarity and usability of the guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with Design Directors, strategy teams and global stakeholders to refine and finalise guidelines.
  • Mentor and support junior designers, ensuring a high level of craft, consistency and attention to detail across all guideline work.
  • Manage timelines and project deliverables while maintaining a proactive and solutions-oriented approach.

What you’ll need:

  • Extensive experience within a branding or design agency, with a strong focus on brand systems, corporate identity and brand guideline development.
  • A deep understanding of how brand identities translate into scalable design systems and global implementation frameworks.
  • Exceptional editorial design, typography and publication layout skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • A highly analytical and structured approach to design problem-solving.
  • Strong experience creating detailed brand guidelines, corporate identity manuals, editorial publications, or design systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Illustrator, with strong page layout and documentation capabilities.
  • Ability to simplify complex brand systems into clear, structured and accessible documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with design teams, strategy teams and global stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to lead guideline development and elevate the quality and clarity of brand documentation.

We believe the best work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection. That's why we’ve adopted a hybrid approach, with teams in the office around four days a week. If you require accommodations or flexibility, please discuss this with the hiring team during the interview process.

We build brands. We build futures. Landor, a WPP company, is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all applicants without discrimination or regard to particular characteristics, committed to a culture of respect where everyone belongs and can progress in their careers.
