This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the demand planning process that reflects Elkay’s strategic initiatives along with also supporting the continuous monthly planning and S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) Process. Responsibilities include the use of statistical modeling techniques and marketing intelligence data to generate the most accurate statistical demand forecast and monthly reports.

  • Create a demand planning processes, creates an initial baseline SKU level forecast, based on the aggregate demand plan by using statistical modeling techniques within a forecasting software tool as an input for supply planning.
  • Collects, analyzes, and documents quantifiable market intelligence from business functions and other sources, and incorporates it into the baseline demand forecast to create the total demand plan.
  • Performs detailed data analysis to identify out of tolerance, variations and exceptions in the data and clearly document those exceptions and corrective actions taken.
  • Monitors the demand plan performance, providing detailed input to sales and marketing management for use in the demand consensus review and executive sales and operations planning meetings. Measures and reports actual versus planned performance overall, by market channel, sales region, and product family, item, mix, etc.
  • Communicates documented assumptions and changes that impact the demand forecast volumes, identifies opportunities and risks, and gains consensus on final demand plan with cross-functional team and upper management.
  • Generates and maintains accurate revenue forecast. Interfaces with Finance and drives the process of reconciling differences between the rolling sku forecast process and the revenue forecasting process.
  • Supports S&OP processes, with rolling unit and revenue forecasts generated by the inputs of market data, industry statistics, marketing dynamics, and the consensus process, and identifies specific areas for improvements.
  • Partners with business line managers to understand opportunities and constraints within our markets and internally within our organization and determines how to appropriately reflect these dynamics in our demand schedules.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree with emphasis in Supply Chain, Operations, statistics or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in forecasting within a manufacturing environment.
  •  Experience in forecast modeling techniques, preferably in Forecast Pro, software or another commercial forecasting software tool.
  • Experience in overall understanding of manufacturing environments and S&OP Process.
  • Experience with ERP or planning systems D365, CEK
  • Basic SQL or Python skills for data analysis.
  • Exposure to statistical forecasting methods.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications, particularly in Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be self-driven, detailed oriented, multi-tasked, meet deadlines, leader, and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Abilities in problem definition, problem solving, analytical and decision making skills are a must.
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration abilities, cross-functional relationship building, communication and presentation skills are needed.
