About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeller to lead the design, development, and governance of our Enterprise Data Model (EDM). You will play a pivotal role in shaping our data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with industry standards including the ACORD reference data model, and enabling consistent, high-quality data across the organization
What You'll Do
Lead the design and evolution of the Enterprise Data Model, ensuring it meets current and future business requirements across multiple lines of business and regions. Apply ACORD industry reference data models to standardise insurance and financial services data structures, adapting frameworks to fit enterprise-specific needs. Partner with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into logical and physical data models. Define and enforce data modelling standards, naming conventions, and best practices across the organisation. Conduct data model reviews and provide guidance to project teams on model integration and compliance. Support master data management initiatives by ensuring entity definitions, relationships, and hierarchies are accurately represented. Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, lineage, and metadata within enterprise data catalogues. Collaborate on data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
What You Bring
10+ years of experience in data modelling within large enterprise environments, preferably in insurance or financial services. Strong expertise in ACORD data standards and reference models (e.g., ACORD Information Model, ACORD Data Standards). Proficiency in data modelling tools such as Erwin, PowerDesigner, ER/Studio, or similar. Deep understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling techniques. Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks). Solid grasp of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modelling, and data vault methodologies. Familiarity with metadata management and data cataloguing tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica). Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business audiences.
Nice to Have
Experience with enterprise MDM platforms (Reltio, Informatica MDM). Exposure to data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS, GDPR). Knowledge of API-first data design and integration patterns.
