Fellow

Senior Copywriting Manager

San Francisco, CA Full Time

About Fellow

At Fellow, we’re on a mission to help people brew ridiculously good coffee at home. But we’re more than just beautifully designed kettles and grinders—we’re a brand built on innovation, community, and culture. We believe great coffee isn’t just about the final cup; it’s about the experience, the ritual, and the people who make it all happen.

Fellow’s in-house creative team is looking for a Senior Copywriting Manager to join us as a conceptual and strategic partner in elevating our brand voice and storytelling across all touch points. Working alongside our Art Director, Senior Brand Designer, and creative team, you’ll help develop the big ideas, narratives, and copy that showcase Fellow’s elevated, design-forward approach, from product launches and campaigns to social-first experiments and packaging copy.

This is a hybrid role: part strategist, part writer and storyteller, part maker. You’ll move fluidly between high-level creative strategy and hands-on content creation, ensuring our brand stories feel fresh, intuitive, and culturally resonant.

This role is based in our office in San Francisco, CA and is required to be in-office 4-days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Creative Partnership: Collaborate with the brand team, Art Director and design team on campaign concepts, brand narratives, and take creative briefs from brainstorms through execution
  • Narrative Strategy: Translate technical product innovations into clear, compelling brand language and stories that connect emotionally with our audiences.
  • Brand Voice Leadership: Evolve and maintain Fellow’s voice, ensuring copy and visuals are tightly integrated.
  • Campaign Building: Co-create integrated campaigns that balance high-level storytelling with tactical clarity, elevating everyday rituals.
  • Creative Ideation & Experimentation: Lead brainstorms, explore new tools and formats, and test emerging channels or approaches to push the brand forward.
  • Content Creation: Write and produce across mediums (product launches, website, ads, emails, social, packaging, retail, case studies, short-form video).
  • Copy Direction: Manage and refine freelance writer output, aligning execution with creative vision and brand standards.
  • Technical Writing: Copywriting product and packaging information across products
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with marketing, social, DTC, and wholesale teams to ensure consistency and impact across all touchpoints.

 Qualifications:

  • Have 6+ years copywriting in creative environments with both conceptual and strategic thinking abilities
  • You have proven writing experience throughout the full marketing funnel stages, from high-level brand campaigns, to acquisition based channels like email, ads, and social
  • Thrive in collaborative, fast-moving creative processes
  • Are equally comfortable leading a brainstorm as you are crafting copy or prototyping content
  • Excel at distilling complex product stories into simple, emotionally resonant ideas
  • Have experience working alongside designers and art directors in integrated campaign development
  • Love good coffee (or are excited to learn more about it!)

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Competitive compensation including employee equity plan
  • Generous paid time off plan
  • 401k with company contribution after 6 months of employment
  • Medical/dental/vision insurance
