Job Description

This role is based at our Corporate Office in Menomonee Falls, WI. You’ll work onsite from Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.

About the Role

In this role you will craft compelling copy, balance multiple high-visibility projects, partner with art directors from concept to execution and help maintain the brand voice across channels.

What You’ll Do

  • Craft memorable headlines with wit and polish using Kohl's brand voice guide

  • Lead copy development for seasonal and brand campaigns

  • Partner closely with other writers, art directors and designers 

  • Collaborate with AI to optimize copywriting and concepting

  • Present copy and concepts with partners to leaders and stakeholders 

  • Translate customer insights into relevant and engaging copy

  • Tailor copy for each channel using best practices

  • Ensure grammatical and stylistic accuracy using Kohl's copy style guide

  • Incorporate feedback so copy is up-to-date throughout the lifecycle of a project

  • Adhere to production schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met

  • Additional tasks may be assigned

What Skills You Have

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Advertising, Marketing or English and 5+ years of related experience

  • Superior grasp of grammar and style as indicated by test

  • Demonstrated copywriting and conceptual ability as indicated by portfolio

Preferred

  • Retail or fashion experience

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Miro

  • Experience writing brand manifestos, concept statements, humor or broadcast
