General Description:
We are looking for a senior finance professional to lead the Swiss Controlling team, joining our newly established Global Business Service centre in Warsaw, Poland. This is a key position for an experienced, ambitious finance professional who is motivated to contribute to developing the finance function as BeOne Medicines builds out its presence across the globe. The position will lead the controlling activities in our SAP Record-to-Reporting processes across our Swiss principal structure. The incumbent will take the lead to deal with operational and process enhancements as well as adopt a hands-on approach to technical and complex tasks. Strong communication and cultural sensitivity are required to coordinate the activities collaborating with functional stakeholders such as FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR, and Distribution at a global level. The ideal candidate will have accounting expertise across the European landscape including transfer pricing, international accounting standards knowledge and experience managing cross-border financial operations. As a valuable resource to the organization the incumbent is pro-active and brings strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a non-structured environment. Ability to lead and keep motivated a diverse team in a hybrid working model and driving process excellence is key, as too having a customer orientated resourceful mindset which completes the desired profile.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Coordinate and lead the accounting processes and activities for the Swiss entities, in particular the Swiss Principal structure, ensuring GL accuracy and completeness, supporting the monthly financial close process, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
- Ensure the proper allocation of profits and costs across the company's European entities under the Swiss Principal model.
- Collaborate with Tax and Intercompany teams to monitor and maintain all accounting entries related to intercompany transactions, transfer pricing adjustments, and profit allocation for the Swiss Principal entity structure.
- Collaborate with the Technical Accounting and China Finance team in the recording and reconciliation of collaboration, royalty and profit share agreement entries
- Oversee the Gross to Net Revenue accounting process across several geographies invoiced out of the Swiss principal structure which includes the Dutch branch of the Swiss Principal structure and Canada, ensuring proper revenue recording, working with 3PL and local commercial finance directors to ensure accruals and reconciliations are also properly maintained.
- Collaborate with the Technical Operations Team and Distribution Team to ensure proper inventory recording across the Swiss Entities.
- Oversee that the accounting activities related to the New Market and Nordic branch office offices are appropriately accounted for in the Swiss International entity structure
- Support the execution of assigned SOX controls in a timely manner.
- Key contact person coordinating the external audit of the Swiss Entities.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts for assigned legal entities, ensuring appropriate communication and coordination of activities with Legal, Tax and FP&A departments too.
- Oversee the reconciliation between US GAAP and Local GAAP ledgers, understand the statutory adjustments and other local requirements that lead to the final Statutory Financial Statements.
- Support operational Treasury tasks as needed such as bank account fundings, IC settlement and capital injection, collaborating with the Treasury team and FP&A team as required
- Ensure all payroll data prepared by outsourcing partner/Payroll Teams are accurately booked in SAP
- Ensure that any manual Journal Entries are properly recorded with supporting backup in the accounting system, and align as applicable with Management, Corporate and FP&A on any adjustments needed
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and ERP system changes
- Share best practices and provide operational assistance on Accounting and SAP topics
- Stay updated with all changes ongoing in the BeOne organization, and provide appropriate guidance to Business and other stakeholders on accounting processes and best practices
Supervisory Responsibilities: Initially 2 resources: Assistant Controller and Senior GL Accountant
Computer Skills: Strong SAP knowledge required, (S/4 Hana preferred) Blackline, Excel, Power BI, Concur, Workday, on -line banking
Other Qualifications:
- Accounting/Business/Finance Bachelor degree with 7+ years of Accounting experience
- Experience in managing finance operations across the European geography is required
- Strong understanding of USGAAP, European accounting standards, tax regulations
- Multinational finance environment with a proven track record of leadership and driving process improvements, ideally within the life sciences/pharma industry
- In-depth understanding and experience of transfer pricing and intercompany accounting.
- Experience managing statutory audits, financial reporting, and compliance matters
- Ability to lead and effectively manage a diverse team in a hybrid working model
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for internal stakeholder collaboration
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP 4 Hana, Blackline)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management experience a plus
- Desire to work in a fast paced, changing (currently unstructured) environment
- Excellent communication skills combined with cultural sensitivity, excellent spoken/written English – any other languages a plus
