What you’ll be doing

The Senior Consultant is accountable for providing support to the Organization Effectiveness (OE) team in their delivery of enterprise programs and organization effectiveness initiatives in partnership with our talent, business and program partners. Additionally the incumbent will be responsible for project coordination, session and material preparation, market research and contributing to practice development of the Organization Effectiveness function.    

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.  You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.  Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.  

How you’ll succeed

  • Organization Effectiveness – Collaborate on the design and implementation of organization effectiveness programs and initiatives to support the organization’s key business priority of improved productivity and increased organizational effectiveness and efficiency.  Perform rigorous analysis of business functions, processes, organization structures, key capabilities.  Contribute to complex/high impact end-to-end initiatives ensuring consistent application of CIBC Organization Effectiveness Principles and methodology; measure and track expected outcomes for purposes of enterprise organization effectiveness metrics reporting. 
  • Capability Building – Conduct in-depth organizational assessments. Apply the insights from organization assessment and analytics. Support the development and delivery of organization design effectiveness workshops to transfer knowledge of operating and organization design principles and practices.  Act as the key relationship point of contact for Line HR and/or business/functional group leaders on organization design and effectiveness issues or concerns.
  • Operational Efficiency – Contribute to the on-going development and consistent application of the Organization Design Effectiveness framework by making improvement recommendations to existing processes, tools and materials and by continually testing the materials with HR professionals and business/functional leaders.  Ensure organization effectiveness principles are consistently applied in all relevant projects ensuring business/ functional specific design criteria is in alignment with the business/functional strategy and goals.

  • You can demonstrate experience in operating models, agile design, organization design principles, concepts, methods, models and processes and experience in leading cross-functional/enterprise initiatives and projects.  It’s an asset if you have experience in consulting, and have an understanding of People Change Management theories
