Sr Consultant, Regulatory reporting Derivatives
Within the Global Derivatives Practice, the Regulatory reporting team manages reporting of Derivatives OTC positions under the jurisdiction respective client is registered under. Trade, collateral, valuations submissions compliance as per the respective regulators is managed by the team.
The Sr Consultant is responsible for creating process designs, business requirements, and acceptance criteria for our Operational Automation projects within our Derivative Practice. The successful candidate will work closely with the business stakeholders to evaluate, clean up, and improve processes to be automated, and then apply RPA and machine learning technologies to enable the automation.
Coordinates large and/or complex projects/onboardings/queries. Has technical expertise to resolve complex queries, and serves as a liaison to related areas. Has both broad and in-depth knowledge in derivatives products, plus strong knowledge processing areas. Leads relatively complex, extensive, high profile activities e.g. direct interaction with clients, senior management, Vendor. Demonstrates excellent Collaborative, analytical, consultative, communication and judgment skills. May lead projects and/or train lower-level staff. Focuses on maintenance and implementation of policies and procedures in the function with a Strong commitment to NT risk.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. The candidate should have a background in process design, and be able to ask key questions in order to shape the to-be process for the most effective automation approach.
Knowledge/Skills
Strong technical knowledge and understanding of trading, accounting and reporting systems along with Regulations – ASIC/EMIR/FCA/MAS
Thorough knowledge of derivatives products, their structures and behaviors and trade lifecycles
Ability to develop and evaluate solutions while planning and prioritizing BAU effectively.
Ability to proactively determine gaps in BAU process, develop solutions and have the same implemented
Ability to confidently discuss and articulate process at larger forums
Confidence in interacting and communicating with all levels of management, clients and external asset managers
Ability to partner with others to help deliver solutions to client
Ability to effectively manage client and business partner expectations
Understanding of the complete end-to-end processes, business units, products and deliverables
Exceptional self-starting skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage issues through to closure
Excellent negotiation skills
Ability to drive Projects to Closure in pressured environment
Translate complex business requirements into clearly defined, actionable tasks
Develop test cases and test packs
Present the results of your work to senior management and stakeholders
Collaborate across the Derivatives business functions to ensure that the product being delivered meets the requirements of the stakeholders
Present ideas to the product team for new capabilities

Understanding of data structures and data management practices. Much of our automation needs are aligned to ensuring we are able to pull timely data
Collaborate with business stakeholders in identifying/clarifying user story acceptance criteria, and supporting user acceptance test planning for each release
Identify additional opportunities and processes automation
Qualifications
Experience
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or applied sciences. MBA preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in Financial domain with at least 2-3years in Regulatory reporting related roles
Good Understanding of OTC systems and architectures, experience in Omnium/Summit or related systems will be an added advantage.
Experience / exposure to working in a strong control environment with required regulatory protocols
Experience working with self- managed and/or highly complex clients such as highly complex pension funds
Familiarity with complex products such as OTC and listed IRS and commodity derivatives, listed equities, various credit products, total return swaps, foreign exchange and interest rate products both bi-lateral and cleared.
Comfortable with Active Collateral Management process being able to create flexible solutions to client based scenarios
Exposure to derivatives industry practices and a desire to educate others.
Proven ability to be a team player with a track record of building strong networks and relationships.
Track record of lending assistance
Must be flexible and adaptable to change
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
Strong organizational skills are required to develop periodic goals and to manage and motivate team members towards the goals set.
