Position: Senior Consultant | Mergers and Acquisitions

Location: Hybrid. Must reside within a reasonable driving distance of Green Bay or La Crosse, WI for frequent on-site needs.

Position Summary:

The Senior Consultant, Mergers & Acquisitions closely with the Director, M & A and Business Development to lead initial new deal evaluation including research; drive day-to-day deal process execution; and collaborate closely with leadership on all matters related to M & A and post-merger integration.

This role directly supports the Director, M & A and Business Development to ensure successful execution of organic and inorganic transactions. The Senior Consultant, Mergers & Acquisitions leads and assists across all stages of the business development lifecycle using strong financial modeling experience to perform due diligence on potential acquisition, affiliation, and merger targets. This role requires strong financial, analytical, project management, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cross-functional workstreams in a fast-paced and highly confidential environment.  The right individual will maintain and demonstrate a growth mindset.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of M&A and partnership strategies aligned with the system's strategic goals.

  • Conduct financial modeling, valuation analyses, and market assessments for potential transactions and initiatives in partnership with Emplify Health finance department.

  • Prepare business cases, investment memos, presentations, and board materials to support decision-making.

  • Manage due diligence processes across multiple functional areas (clinical, financial, legal, operational, etc.).

  • Coordinate and track possible transactions through the entire deal flow process: from initial approach to post-transaction integration efforts.

  • Conduct competitive landscape and market analyses to inform business development opportunities.

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., finance, legal, clinical leadership) and external partners (e.g., advisors, target organizations).

  • Support relationship development with potential partners, including community hospitals, physician groups, and other healthcare entities.

  • Maintain documentation and dashboards tracking pipeline opportunities, project status, and key metrics.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality.

  • Operate with a high degree of discretion and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and strategic information.

Position Requirements:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, Engineering or Mathematics.

  • Desired: Master’s degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, Engineering or Mathematics.

Experience:

  • Required: 4-6 years of experience leading strategy in business development, investment banking, or other related finance experience with demonstrated expertise in financial modeling and due diligence. 

  • Desired: 2-3 years of demonstrated understanding of healthcare business models and finances.
