We are seeking a talented individual to join our LAC Rewards Team at Marsh. This role will be based in Mexico City. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
As a LAC Senior Compensation Specialist, you will play a critical role supporting multiple client groups in partnership with Senior People Partners, HR Managers and business leadership. This position requires a well-rounded, experienced rewards professional who thrives in a highly matrixed environment.
You will collaborate closely with HR and business leaders to develop innovative and scalable compensation solutions aligned with business needs to drive growth and enhance organizational effectiveness.
A key focus of this role is leveraging strong data analysis capabilities and advanced Excel skills to analyze complex compensation data, generate insights, and formulate actionable recommendations. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining compensation programs while continuously assessing their effectiveness and quality.
Reporting to the Marsh LAC Rewards Leader, you will be part of a Global Rewards Center of Excellence and have the opportunity to participate in cross-business projects across Marsh, increasing your visibility and impact within the organization.
We will count on you to:
- Serve as a subject matter expert by providing senior-level compensation consulting support to HR and business leaders across the LAC region.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to advise on compensation strategies, including sales incentive plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Utilize Workday HR systems and benchmarking tools such as BetterComp to generate detailed and accurate reports supporting compensation analysis.
- Prepare advanced compensation analyses, interpreting complex data and reports with precision to provide data-driven recommendations.
- Lead and manage various compensation initiatives and projects with significant organizational impact, including variable compensation plan design, salary structure reviews, market analysis, and year-end compensation planning.
- Establish clear project objectives, develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations, and engage stakeholders across multiple functions and levels within a matrix environment.
- Collaborate closely with Finance teams to assist with forecasting and year-end budget modeling related to compensation programs.
- Provide ongoing insights and market intelligence on competitive landscapes, industry trends, and best practices to inform compensation strategies.
What do you need to have:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in Compensation, demonstrating strong client management skills and a broad understanding of compensation issues, market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices, preferably in a regional or multi-country scope.
- Proven experience leading rewards projects, with the ability to build consensus, manage expectations across diverse stakeholders, coordinate multiple work streams, and prioritize competing demands effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis functions, pivot tables, and complex formulae, as well as strong PowerPoint skills for presentation development.
- Solid project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization, building strong relationships, managing key senior-level stakeholders as well as influencing cross-functional teams.
- Great communication and presentation skills (verbal & written) both in English and Spanish.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills in highly complex and dynamic environments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.
