Grade 3 Occupational Therapist | Inpatient Rehabilitation

St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist (Grade 3) to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation Service. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a skilled Occupational Therapist with expertise in neurological rehabilitation to provide advanced clinical care while contributing to service excellence within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
The Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist will deliver specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention to patients with complex neurological conditions within the inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will support patients to achieve meaningful functional outcomes and facilitate safe and timely discharge planning.
The role also includes supporting patients and families with NDIS access and applications, ensuring continuity of care and access to appropriate community supports following discharge.
Classifications for this position will range from Occupational Therapist Grade 3 VG3 - VG6 ($104,135 - $118,981 per annum).
Provide advanced occupational therapy assessment and intervention for patients with neurological conditions including stroke, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, and progressive neurological disorders
Lead goal-directed rehabilitation programs to optimise independence in activities of daily living, cognition, and functional participation
Support patients and families with NDIS access and application processes where appropriate
Contribute to complex discharge planning, including equipment prescription and environmental recommendations
Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to junior occupational therapy staff and students
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team to deliver coordinated patient-centred care
Contribute to service improvement, quality initiatives and evidence-based practice
You are a skilled clinician who is passionate about neurological rehabilitation and delivering high-quality patient-centred care. You bring strong clinical reasoning, leadership capability and a commitment to collaborative practice.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
Significant clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation
Demonstrated experience managing complex rehabilitation caseloads in inpatient or subacute settings
Experience supporting NDIS applications and transition planning
Strong skills in clinical leadership, supervision and mentoring
Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
