Mercer’s Investment Solutions International Client Team has an exciting opportunity to join one of our largest and most rapidly-growing business areas - implemented investment solutions. As a senior member of the Client Onboarding Team within our Investment Solutions International Client Team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the growth of Mercer’s investment solutions client base across Europe and Asia.

As well as leading the client onboarding process for a range of our new clients, the candidate will be in a position to influence and further develop Mercer’s overall service delivery to Investment Solutions clients over the coming years, including client restructures, regulatory processes and a variety of client-governance-related projects. As part of the International Client Team, the successful candidate will develop an intricate knowledge of Mercer’s investment fund solutions by liaising on an ongoing basis with operational, legal, portfolio management and consulting teams based in Dublin/London and help to filter this expertise across a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The role will facilitate exciting career opportunities within a dynamic and rapidly growing area of Mercer’s business driven by strong demand across new markets.

  • Coordinate end-to-end projects of all clients on-boarding onto a Mercer investment solution

  • Identify client type and jurisdiction, setting out appropriate AML / KYC requirements

  • Demonstrate in-depth operational knowledge of pooled funds, manage on-boarding documentation and work with multiple stakeholders including clients, consultants, business development, investment operations, fees, and legal

  • Communicate both internally and externally to keep the business informed of progress of client take-on cases

  • Prepare and coordinate all legal documentation: Engagement Letters, Investment Management Agreements, Application Forms & Fee Agreements

  • Open accounts and operational set-ups with custodian / transfer agency and tax teams

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s delegated fund structures and solutions in order to explain and communicate to colleagues and clients

  • Assist and provide an oversight to the transition planning efforts

  • Support and influence the development of Mercer’s overall client-service delivery across the UK/European/Asian client base, ensuring a first-class customer experience in a scalable way

  • Train and develop junior colleagues

What you need to have: 

  • A wealth of experience with a passion for project management, a client-focused outlook and proven Client Onboarding experience

  • Experience of working in fiduciary or asset management in a similar capacity In-depth operational knowledge of pooled funds, experience of on-boarding documentation

  • Ability to communicate complex requirements to clients, third parties in a simple and coherent manner

  • Attention to detail, and proven track record in project management, engaging with a variety of stakeholders

  • Confidence to chair and lead discussions both internally and with external third parties

  • Sound knowledge of Private Markets and operational processes of how private market investments work

  • Knowledge of 5th AML directive, MiFID II, PEP and sanctions screening

  • Knowledge and experience of investment markets across range of assets
