About The Opportunity
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing procurement activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of materials and services. This role involves strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements to support organizational goals. The Senior Buyer will act as a subject matter expert in purchasing and provide leadership on complex procurement projects.Essential Job Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties however; it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned.
Subject Matter Expert in soliciting and tabulating bids and information to enable cost effective and strategic purchasing decisions
Excellent organization and data gathering skills to place purchase orders for accurate procurement of materials and supplies
Knowledge of reconciling, resolving invoice and PO issues to mitigate risk to the company
Pro-active problem solver, identifying, analyzing and partnering with the Purchasing Manager on strategic projects and process improvement initiatives
Assist complex purchasing activities by providing strong customer service to internal and external customer.
Analyze purchasing requirements and identify opportunities related to cost savings. Execute and lead projects while tracking progress.
Obtain quotes for all departments on goods and services not currently purchased by organization and identify cost saving opportunities
Research and identify the availability of vendors/suppliers and their parts, equipment, materials and services.
Prepare procurement and usage reports by collecting and analyzing cost, quality, user, vendor, volumes and other information. Include maintenance of appropriate/historical records to improve purchasing effectiveness and to provide information for managerial decision making.
Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed
Advanced knowledge of global sourcing and procurement
Ability to coordinate end to end global shipments including establishing incoterms, preparing paperwork, customs clearance, managing risk, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of methods, tools and documentation of evaluating, selecting and certifying suppliers and parts
Knowledge of the contractual and legal matters related to expenditures (consulting services, maintenance, agreements, hardware and software acquisitions, outsourcing, etc.)
Knowledge of tools, processes and practices for purchasing goods and services via electronic links to suppliers and partners
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of SAP transactions and inventory reporting.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Power BI, conditional formatting, data validation, and dashboard creation).
Education & Experience
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional designation from a recognized Purchasing Association (e.g., SCMP, CPSM) is highly preferred.
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
·Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
