The role:
Join our team as a senior business systems analyst. The Business Systems Analyst will act as a link between the technical team and other areas of the business, focusing on implementing business solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Their analytical skills will be key in identifying needs and proposing solutions that drive better business outcomes.
Core work will involve conducting detailed requirements gathering and analysis to support the implementation of technology-driven solutions. The business systems analyst will also conduct system testing and lead user acceptance testing. Projects will be a 70/30 mix of implementing vendor solutions and custom development. Apply today!

A day in the life:
Compose Documentation
Produce detailed analytical documentation, including but not limited to: process flows and models, design and specification documents, system wireframe mockups, acceptance criteria, user stories, and operating procedures.
Conduct interviews and product analysis to gather user requirements using workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other elicitation methods to ensure accurate representation of business needs.
Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements.
Act as Process SME
Collaborate with IT teams and subject matter experts to assess and propose solutions that align with business requirements. Participate actively in discussions on system enhancements, optimizations, and integrations that support agency objectives.
Support change management activities by tracking and managing updates to requirements, ensuring proper documentation, communication, and full traceability of updates.
Provide leadership and guidance by mentoring junior team members on agency processes and best practices.
Lead Test, Training, and Support
Develop and maintain test plans, scripts, use cases, and test reports. Perform testing activities across all phases, including functional through user acceptance testing, to ensure system quality and readiness.
Deliver consulting and training to internal and external stakeholders, providing guidance to help them understand and adapt to system changes and enhancements effectively.
Provide technical troubleshooting and application support to end-users and system administrators, ensuring timely resolution of issues and effective system usage.
Presentations and Communication
Facilitate communication between IT and business stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and successful project outcomes.
Prepare and deliver clear, concise presentations of findings and recommendations to support informed decision-making.
Generate reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and project progress in a clear and actionable manner.
Perform a diverse range of duties in the planning and implementation of technology solutions for business processes.
Work in an office environment with hybrid work options available.

Minimum qualifications:
Six (6) years of information systems experience as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis.
OR
An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND four (4) years of information systems experience as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis.
OR
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems as an analyst specifically in software or system analysis.
OR
Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

Proven experience encompassing all facets of the Software Development Life Cycle, as well as configuration, change, and release management principles and concepts.
Demonstrated expertise in developing comprehensive process, technical, and application documentation for both internal systems and vendor‑provided applications.
Substantial experience in system deployment, conducting process walk-throughs, and executing system upgrades.
Comprehensive knowledge of business analysis techniques, methodologies, and tools.
A candidate with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in both technical and user-friendly language with stakeholders.
