Senior Business Analyst, M&G Direct

The role:

The role holder will be seen as a senior expert in Business Analysis and will bring broad business analysis experience gained over several years. Ideally, they will have a good understanding of the M&G Direct products and funds. They will be able to work with M&G stakeholders from a variety of teams and at various levels of seniority both internally and with external suppliers. They will take ownership and be responsible for helping drive and implement change. They will be good at capturing requirements either as part of a group or individually. Good communication is essential. The role will focus on the end customer – as well as controlling risks associated with change.

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities:

· Set the focus and approach to Business Analysis tasks: You’ll work to make sure that the approach and focus is joined up and contributing towards the team goals.

· Investigating, understanding and capturing requirements: You’ll work with others in the project to work on documenting requirements, analysing and investigating solutions, then presenting the way forward in a way that can be understood by stakeholders. This may be with internal teams or partners who are third parties.

· Unblock problems and issues: Work with the team to anticipate and unblock issues that they may encounter. You’ll need to be finding solutions to the problems encountered and facilitate their implementation.

· Prioritisation: Where there is more demand than supply, help prioritise in creative ways so the work can be completed.

· Stakeholder management: You will build relationships with peers and stakeholders both internal and external. You will be a positive influence for a positive in Business Analysis.

· Expertise and Ownership: Working with your colleagues, you will be seen as an expert in your subject matter and will be one of the go to people for M&G Direct change.

· Implementation of Change: You will be flexible in stretching outside your immediate role when required. In a small team you will not only need to be a senior business analyst, but you may also need to assist with product owner skills, testing skills, and implementation skills.

This is a Fixed Term Contract

Skills required for role:

· Business Analysis skills: You will need to bring extensive experience in business analysis. You will know how to investigate, analyse, visualise and articulate and solve problems. You will need to make sure the solution aligns with the vision of M&G. You will have kept abreast of market trends and techniques.

· Understanding the business: An understanding of direct-to-consumer business processes and operating models within Asset Management is advantageous. You will need to be able to understand good business processes and to analyse and document current business processes clearly. You will be able to identify and implement opportunities for optimisation and transformation. You will be familiar with financial services products and practices.

· Research and critical thinking skills: You will be able to take a problem and consider several possible outcomes. You will be able to identify the best outcome by probing and researching viable options. You

will be able to present your findings in a way that is appropriate for the intended audience to understand.

· People skills: You will be interacting with a lot of people at many different levels. you will need to understand how different people think, and what motivates them to help determine business analysis outcomes.

· Communication skills: You will need to be a good listener and to understand what people are telling you. When you communicate, it will need to be effective, at the right level of detail, at the right frequency and in the right way. You will need to be a good negotiator.

· Technology skills: You will have a good working understanding of technology / architecture. You will be familiar with architecture terminology and have broad experience of key industry software. You will feel comfortable diving into some of the technology detail and analysing data. You will be comfortable working in agile and waterfall methodologies and understand advantages and disadvantages of different methodologies.

· Can do attitude: You will want to find solutions, to overcome issues, and to be willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
