What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop complex backend data applications using AWS services, Java, Spring Framework, Apache Camel, Kafka, and SQL
  • Enhance and extend an existing Data Mesh framework to onboard new internal and external data sources, including Salesforce and vendor feeds
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and resolve complex technical challenges
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following enterprise engineering standards
  • Design and maintain efficient and secure database schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries
  • Implement real-time and event-driven data processing using Kafka and AWS SNS/SQS
  • Develop and maintain data transformation and routing logic using Apache Camel and Spring Batch
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, scalability, and security
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in cloud and data engineering

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong hands-on experience developing solutions on AWS
  • Extensive experience with Java, Spring Framework, Apache Camel, and/or Spring Batch
  • Experience implementing real-time data pipelines using Kafka and AWS messaging services (SNS/SQS)
  • Strong SQL skills, including database schema design, stored procedures, and complex queries
  • Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, OpenShift, AWS ECS/Fargate)
  • Proficiency with DevOps and CI/CD tools (GitHub, Maven, Azure DevOps, Ansible, etc.)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with data catalog and lineage tools (e.g., Informatica, Manta)
  • Familiarity with data virtualization platforms (e.g., Dremio, Denodo)

Nice to Have

  • Salesforce integration experience
  • Experience with in-memory data platforms (AMPS, MemSQL, Ignite, etc.)
  • Python development experience
  • Experience with reporting and monitoring tools (Power BI, ELK stack, Grafana)
  • Exposure to advanced AWS services such as Redshift, SageMaker, or Bedrock
  • Experience with Starburst
