POSITION SUMMARY:
The Automation and Platform Engineer, IT, Technology Center oversees RPA solutions and Power Platform applications in the Power Platform Center of Excellence framework and works alongside the Cloud team members in designing and building the multi-cloud infrastructure and frameworks. This role centers on designing, building, and maintaining frameworks that will provide the basis for automation and artificial intelligence within ACS. As such, there is a lot of collaboration and coordination with multiple teams, (M365, Intelligent Automation, Cloud, and Security), to bridge low-code/no-code enablement with enterprise-grade cloud engineering, ensuring scalable, secure, and governed solutions that empower business users and developers alike.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, build, and administrate the Power Platform Center of Excellence administration using Power Platform functionality, Azure services, Business Intelligence tools/solutions, IAM and DLP policy integrations, and CI/CD/ALM deployment processes and automations. 20%
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Engineering team to design and build a secure, scalable multi-cloud platform leveraging Azure, AWS, and OpenShift. Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration strategies. Ensure platform observability, compliance, and cost optimization across cloud environments. 15%
  • Lead messaging projects/enhancements, software upgrades, and implementation of new components with the Power Platform while translating solutions technology to business users to help clients increase business value and performance. 15%
  • Work closely with security, compliance, and enterprise architecture teams to align platform and automation strategies with organizational goals. Mentor developers and engineers across both low-code and cloud-native stacks. 10%
  • Organization of second level support (development support) for all products in scope responsibility area, establishing support rotations as needed, and serves as the first point of critical outage escalation 24/7, and making immediate triage decisions. 10%
  • Drive observability practices, including logging, metrics, alerting, and performance tuning. Lead cost management initiatives, identify optimization opportunities, and guide architectural decisions for efficiency. 10%
  • Keep track of third-party software utilization and licensing needs, interfacing with IT budgeting/financial planning resource. 5%
  • Monitoring Microsoft Roadmap for upcoming changes. Assist directors with the creation of product roadmaps while balancing product business goals and technical debt to keep the products healthy, agile, and maintainable. Identify new technological opportunities for application delivery/exploration of them together with Architects organizing assessments. 5%
  • Protects overall security through the administration of Security and Compliance portal, access control lists, server security measures, and cross-certification of external organizations. Provide eDiscovery and Data Loss Protection policies to platform data according to specs from Legal/Security. 5%
  • Support testing and quality assurance of solutions built within platform. Support updates an existing KB article and coach other members in their area of expertise. 5%

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): Microsoft Power Platform, or similar, certifications preferred.
  • Years of experience: 7+ years of experience working with M365; 5+ years developing and administering Power Platform and other automation systems within the Microsoft ecosystem; 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture (Azure and/or AWS).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Strong knowledge of the Power Platform Center of Excellence administration best practices.
  • Proficient in using Azure services, (Logic Apps, Functions, SQL Database, Storage, etc.)
  • Business Intelligence, (Snowflake, Power BI, etc.), experience is a plus.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and version control, RESTful microservices, and APIs.
  • Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining RPA and Intelligent automation solutions using Power Platform or other relevant automation development solutions.
  • Certification in RPA, RDA, and/or Power Platform is a plus.
  • Consults with developers on issues related to the impact of applications on infrastructure.
  • Work closely with security, compliance, and enterprise architecture teams to align platform and automation strategies with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with the Cloud Engineering team to design and build a secure, scalable multi-cloud platform leveraging Azure, AWS, and OpenShift.
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code (IaC), Disaster Recovery/Backup, and container orchestration strategies.
  • Ensure platform observability, compliance, and cost optimization across cloud environments.
  • Provides technical expertise relative to the optimization of Power Platform applications.
  • Investigates and aligns ecosystems with future AI initiatives from Microsoft and other vendors.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate and coach clearly with all team members and end-users.

  • Work can be performed in a typical interior/office work and remote environment.

  • Availability and ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed, to be on call and/or to fulfill job responsibilities and requirements.

The salary rate is $125,000. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
