Senior Auditor

JOB SUMMARY:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Perform risk evaluations to define audit scope and identify key controls.
• Assess control design and identify deficiencies.
• Execute audit steps, prepare work papers, schedules, and summaries documenting evidence and conclusions.
• Utilize data analytics and technology to evaluate processes and controls.
• Complete workpapers in compliance with department and IIA standards.
• Draft clear and persuasive audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Participate in audit entrance and closing meetings with stakeholders.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact with audit clients, ensuring timely communication of progress and issues.
• Contribute to process improvements and drive innovation through automated audit techniques, AI, and data visualization tools.
• Perform Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 testing to ensure controls operate effectively.
   

QUALIFICATIONS:
 

Employment Experience:
 

• 3–4 years of relevant audit experience.
• Strong business judgment and analytical thinking with ability to prioritize key issues and differentiate critical findings.
   

Technical Skills:
 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Knowledge of auditing standards and computer system controls.
• Experience with audit management software.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools for audit testing and risk assessment.
• Understanding of IT general controls, cybersecurity principles, and data governance frameworks is a plus.

Education Requirements:
 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• CPA, CIA, CISA or willingness to obtain certification.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $100,000 annually.

The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.

Our corporate office locations:

Field/Remote — Select roles designated as field/remote will require associates to work from a home office, connecting virtually with Choice team members and leadership on Zoom, with possible required travel depending on the role.
