Senior Associate – Digital Infrastructure and Technology Law
We have a rare opportunity for a dynamic Senior Associate to join our Technology Law team in Singapore, which will become our Asian hub for digital infrastructure, energy and funds following the firm’s transition back to the “Mallesons” brand on 31 March 2026.
This growing team works on cutting-edge digital infrastructure, telecommunications, technology and data matters, with market leading regional capability and a client base that includes global technology giants and leading financial institutions. The work is varied and complex: one day might involve a data centre deal in Taiwan, and the next day a trans-Pacific subsea cable project.
You would work closely with Daryl Cox, who is a sector specialist with a wealth of cross-border expertise, particularly in Asia. You would also work with a wider group of collaborative and supportive Technology Law partners and specialist teams across our international network.
What are we looking for?
You will have experience advising on complex and high-stakes digital infrastructure matters, particular relating to data centres. This could include new developments, M&A transactions, joint ventures, partnerships or commercial agreements.
While TMT/Technology Law experience is preferred, you may be coming from a Real Estate or M&A background. For the right candidate, we will support you to pivot to TMT/Technology Law, while maintaining your existing capabilities which are key for advising clients on matters across the digital infrastructure lifecycle. We want you to understand – or be interested in – the fundamentals of the infrastructure that underpins our digital world, so that you can help our clients to deliver and use it.
You will be a key market-facing member of the team, playing a pivotal role in business development initiatives. Therefore, you will need the confidence and capability to run with matters, and a commercial mindset to focus on issues that matter while removing noise. This generally requires at least 5 years of post-qualification experience. If you’ve gotten there sooner, we want to hear from you as well.
You will come from a top tier law firm environment, but we will consider applicants who have spent time in-house at leading companies. This is because we need you to have first rate drafting, analytical and communication capabilities. Our clients require precision and care.
You will bring a world view, and a curiosity about the macro events and technology trends that matter (or will matter in the future) to our clients, and an APAC regional focus that isn’t defined or limited by geographic or market boundaries. These qualities make our team adaptable and agile, and able to look around corners for our clients.
You will have a proven ability to cultivate and sustain strong client relationships. We want you to participate in our team’s growth, while developing your own practice. A collaborative spirit is also important because we work closely with colleagues and professionals across the APAC region and we coordinate local counsel for multi-jurisdictional projects.
Finally, you will also need a recognised legal qualification in a common law jurisdiction.
Who are we?
On 31 March 2026, we will transition back to the “Mallesons” brand which has almost 200 years of top tier history in Australia and internationally. Our Singapore office will be our Asian hub and we remain committed to being a leading international firm that embraces opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region, combining our un-matched top tier capability in Australia and Singapore with an international network of relationship firms.
