Role Overview
Analog Devices is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to join the High Performance Power Applications team in Bangalore, India. In this role, you will work closely with customers, Field Applications Engineers (FAEs), and internal product and design teams to enable successful adoption of ADI’s power management solutions.
This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused applications role, centered on customer design support, system‑level power architecture guidance, and delivery of high‑quality application collateral. The position plays a critical role in accelerating customer design‑ins and design‑wins by removing technical barriers and ensuring efficient, robust implementation of ADI power products.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Field Support
- Provide advanced technical support to customers and FAEs for power management solutions, acting as a key escalation point for complex application challenges.
- Support customer design‑in and design‑win activities through schematic reviews, design recommendations, and troubleshooting support.
- Deliver clear, practical technical guidance to customers across multiple stages of the design cycle, from concept through production.
Technical Execution & Enablement
- Develop and review application collateral including evaluation board documentation, reference designs, application notes, and design guidelines.
- Support evaluation system bring‑up, measurements, and debugging to validate customer use cases and demonstrate product performance.
- Assist customers with system‑level power architecture decisions involving buck, boost, buck‑boost converters, LDOs, and related power solutions.
- Provide guidance on key application considerations such as efficiency, transient response, EMI/EMC, thermal performance, and reliability.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Systems, and Marketing teams to provide structured feedback from customer engagements.
- Contribute application insights that help improve product usability, documentation, and future product definitions.
- Support global teams across time zones, with a primary focus on customers and programs in India and the Asia region.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Deliver technical training to FAEs, Sales teams, and distribution partners to improve product understanding and field effectiveness.
- Share best practices and application learnings across the global Applications Engineering community.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (Power Electronics specialization preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in power electronics, power management IC applications, or system‑level power design.
- Strong technical foundation in DC‑DC converters (buck, boost, buck‑boost) and LDO regulators.
- Hands‑on experience with lab measurements, debugging, and performance characterization of power systems.
- Solid understanding of system‑level power challenges across one or more end markets such as industrial, data center, automotive, or instrumentation.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting customer designs in an applications or field applications engineering role.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation, thermal design, and PCB layout best practices for power circuits.
- Exposure to high‑voltage or high‑power DC systems.
- Experience working with global, cross‑functional engineering teams.
