Key Responsibilities:
Cash Flow Planning and Liquidity Management
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity for operations.
Consolidate partner funding and cash projections into grant-level forecasts.
Ensure adequacy of funds commitment in PBAS before initiating funding requests.
Prepare and submit funding requests in line with donor and internal timelines.
Manage petty cash operations, including disbursements, reconciliations, and replenishments.
Coordinate with FP&A and Shared Services for cash flow alignment and reporting.
Ensure consistent compliance with the cash target low requirements.
Banking Operations and Payment Processing
Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with Shared Services.
Oversee mobile money and beneficiary payments, ensuring secure and efficient disbursement.
Manage direct funding reconciliation and ensure alignment with donor records.
Ensure direct cash deposits by donors, sources are confirmed, local income identified, and proper classification and documentation done.
Maintain relationships with banking and Mobile Money partners and ensure exchange rate are updates in Sun System.
Support foreign currency trading and hedging to monitor FX risks.
Treasury Risk and Investment Oversight
Manage investment accounts including self-insurance, gratuity, and severance funds held at Global Treasury and any under local banking.
Coordinate funding and reporting for these accounts in line with global policies.
Monitor treasury-related risks and propose mitigation strategies hedging.
Support audit readiness and respond to treasury-related audit queries.
Knowledge, Qualifications and Professional Experience
First degree in Accounting or Finance and/or professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a finance role in NGO environment.
In-depth working knowledge of accounting software packages; Sun Systems, Vision XL and Vision Executive, PowerBI, Kariba
In-depth working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS
In-depth working knowledge of grant accounting.
Knowledge of how to prepare, review, and present financial statements and financial reports.
Able to hire, train, equip, deploy, lead, and motivate staff to achieve core results
Experience in financial forecasting and cash management, hedging and forex
Able to work with minimum supervision
Able to articulate and communicate ideas well verbally and in writing
