Job Description

Position Overview  

The Senior Analyst, Market Registration and Operational Compliance, plays a critical role in supporting Invenergy's market registration activities and operational compliance programs across a diverse generation fleet and project pipeline. This position requires strong attention to detail, advanced technical writing, project management, and critical thinking skills. Successful candidates are proactive professionals who can work independently, while also collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams   

The Senior Analyst will support market participation and compliance activities across multiple North American RTOs/ISOs, including but not limited to ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, IESO, NYISO, and NERC.  This role directly contributes to ensuring Invenergy’s assets meet all applicable market, operational, and regulatory requirements. 

This role is based out of our downtown Chicago office.   

Responsibilities  

  • Serve as Compliance System/Application Co-Administrator 

  • Manage and maintain user access across multiple RTO/ISO market portals and registration platforms 

  • Independently function as the Program’s Evidence & Procedure Custodian, ensuring documentation integrity and version control 

  • Collect, organize, and synthesize operational, technical, and compliance data 

  • Interpret and analyze data to support research initiatives and program metrics. and compliance determinations 

  • Manage program calendar and field support request 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to risk assessment, compliance processes, documentation quality, and workflow efficiency 

  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Management, Electrical Engineering, Library Services, or equivalent industry experience. 

  • Demonstrated project management abilities with strong organizational skills 

  • Ability to multi-task and maintain high performance under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional technical writing. 

  • Diplomacy skills necessary to effectively navigate complex processes with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Nimble and collaborative work ethic with a high level of initiative 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat 

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 3+ years of experience working with electricity market operations, auction rules, or related market processes (day ahead, real time, capacity, ancillary services, etc.) 

  • SCADA Engineering or Generation Systems Operations experience  

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of electricity power markets 

  • Knowledge of PJM, SPP, ERCOT, and NERC is highly preferred.  

  • Advanced organizational, presentation/facilitation, and verbal/written communication skills 

Base Pay

$85,000.00 - $103,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 15%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
