What Software Asset Management contributes to Cardinal Health:
Information Technology is accountable for the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and implements IT solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive measurable business value.
IT Asset Management governs the licensing of IT and software assets, leveraging the Flexera One SaaS platform to identify savings opportunities and ensure license compliance in partnership with Cardinal Health Solution and Product Owners.
This position is responsible for executing software renewals and producing license savings reports for Solution Owners through Flexera One. In addition, the role supports client engagement by evaluating requests, prioritizing and coordinating case workflows, and managing escalations to ensure timely resolution.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities
- Possesses working knowledge of software asset management and applies established best practices.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to implement effective software license management strategies.
- Integrates insights gained from proficiency meetings into daily operations.
- Partners with solution, product, and contracts teams to drive timely software renewals.
- Ensure renewal deliverables and savings reports are completed on schedule.
- Provides data‑driven insights using Flexera One and software analysis to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost optimization, and risk reduction.
- Offers secondary support for the software procurement process.
- Utilizes SOPs to develop and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinates the execution of detailed service requests.
- Oversee license stock reviews, software deployments, manual installations, and large‑scale deliveries requiring manual review, assignment, and potential purchase.
- Assist in resolving advanced technical or licensing issues as needed.
- Contributes to the creation of policies and procedures, as well as audits and automation initiatives.
- Develop innovative solutions to accelerate software delivery timelines.
- Manages purchases for projects of moderate scope and organizational impact.
- Maintains accountability for budget adherence and cost savings throughout the purchasing cycle.
Qualifications
- Two-year degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in IT software asset management.
- Intermediate level of working knowledge of ServiceNow and desktop software license management. BuyNow experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting multi-platform environment requests for ServiceNow, Microsoft, Adobe, Azure, and other hybrid software applications.
- Demonstrated excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to motivate and direct team members to build productive, cooperative work teams.
- Proven ability to effectively collaborate with others, initiate action, and adapt to change.
- Proactive, innovative, and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs.
- Demonstrated experience applying strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.
