This role supports Manulife’s global investment operations by managing the full lifecycle of cash and asset transfers. You’ll ensure timely settlements, accurate reconciliations, and smooth coordination with custodians, Portfolio Managers, clients, and internal teams. This position will help you strengthen your technical expertise, improve transfer processes, and build strong analytical and stakeholder‑management skills in a fast‑paced, global environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the full lifecycle of transfers within the Transfers Origination Automation System (TOA).
- Ensure timely settlement of transfers and accuracy of updates across downstream systems, including SimCorp Dimension (SCD).
- Coordinate transfer‑related activities with custodians, Portfolio Managers, clients, and various internal business units (Treasury, Compliance, Market Risk, Accounting, etc.).
- Perform daily cash and asset reconciliation between TOA and internal books of record.
- Understand stakeholder requirements and recommend improvements to the transfer process.
- Deliver required notifications for non‑North American custody account transfers.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers/clients to determine transfer preferences (in‑kind or cash) and understand related procedural impacts.
- Conduct manual validation of “Trust” portfolios and ensure compliance with procedures.
- Provide best‑practice recommendations and cost‑related considerations for transfer processing.
Required Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a securities or investment operations environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Macros/VBA is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively across teams and cultures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with transfer operations, custodial coordination, or investment accounting.
- Exposure to cash and asset reconciliation processes.
- Strong understanding of investment products and operational workflows.
- Ability to recommend process enhancements and ensure operational accuracy.
