About the Role
A Senior Analyst in our Enterprise Analytics team, is a key member of the Enterprise Data & Analytics team at Zendesk. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact analytics that drive strategic decisions across business functions. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, data analysis and engineering, translating complex datasets into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
Hybrid Work Requirement: Candidates must live within a commutable distance of our Austin office to support onsite collaboration in this hybrid role.
Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management: Act as a strategic partner to leadership in Operations, Sales, and Finance domains to identify business challenges and define data-driven solutions.
End-to-End Analysis: Lead the design, development, and delivery of complex analytical projects, from initial data requirements gathering to final executive presentation.
Advanced Visualization: Create, maintain, and automate high-visibility dashboards in Tableau/Looker that track global KPIs and business health.
AI first: Bring a forward thinking mindset to all your work to drive quality & velocity.
Data Modeling & ETL: Develop, optimize & deploy sophisticated SQL queries and dbt models.
Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods to identify trends, perform variance analysis, and build forecasting models to predict business outcomes.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and peer reviews for junior analysts, ensuring best practices in SQL optimization and data storytelling.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in data analytics.
Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in SQL.
Advanced experience with BI tools (specifically Tableau or Looker).
Foundational knowledge of Python or R for statistical modeling and data manipulation.
Experience with dbt (data build tool) or similar ETL/ELT frameworks would be preferable.
AI Literacy: Hands-on experience using LLMs for prototyping & deployment.
Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to structure problems, perform deep-dive analysis, and synthesize large volumes of data into a cohesive narrative.
Communication: Proven track record of presenting complex technical findings to non-technical audiences and influencing senior stakeholders.
Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
