At CommBank, you’ll be part of a Product Control team that plays a critical role in supporting the Bank’s trading and commodities businesses. This is not a traditional accounting role. It’s an opportunity to apply your accounting foundation while developing a strong understanding of how financial markets operate and how products interact across the balance sheet and profit and loss.

Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) supports major corporate, government and institutional clients through capital raising, transactional banking and risk management solutions.
 

Product Control sits within IB&M Finance and provides independent oversight and financial control of the Global Markets business. The team is responsible for daily P&L reporting, balance sheet integrity, and partnering closely with Front Office to support trading activity across a broad range of products.

This is a hands‑on, high‑impact environment that goes beyond traditional accounting.
 

Your Impact
In this role, you will:

• Produce daily profit and loss reporting for the Commodities trading desk
• Perform reconciliations between Front Office records and internal systems
• Partner with stakeholders to support accurate trade booking and financial reporting
• Identify, investigate and proactively flag issues or anomalies
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process enhancement and automation opportunities
• Build your knowledge of financial markets, derivatives and trading products
   

This role offers clear development pathways, with proven progression from Analyst through to Manager and beyond.
 

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

• A professional accounting qualification (CA / CPA)
• Experience in Big 4 audit or assurance, or a similar environment
• A genuine interest in financial markets and how markets operate
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of ownership and accountability
• A proactive mindset, comfortable speaking up and escalating issues when needed
• A willingness to learn and grow, with exposure to tools such as Power BI
