Senior AML IT Maintenance Manager - GFT Halifax

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

AML IT Maintenance development team is looking for an experienced lead developer to support the AML IT suite of Applications. You will be leading the Halifax team of talented engineers to deliver high quality solutions responsible for the maintenance and compliance issues resolution for AML IT applications. You will be working in an Agile team to deliver business value incrementally and take accountability for the delivery of the AML IT Maintenance development team.

  • Accept and successfully execute change while supporting employees through the process and keeping them focused on business priorities.
  • Take ownership of delivery of the Maintenance development team, meeting the collective team’s goals, running the daily Maintenance team scrum calls and documenting the inventory of JIRA and Incident tickets being worked on.
  • Be part of an agile team that delivers resolution for AML IT applications for internal users to manage AML IT suite of applications.
  • Work within a product team and the wider development team in other regions to implement changes quickly and help deliver intuitive solutions which optimizes our technology offering.
  • Work closely with an end-to-end product team to ensure the team delivers on the acceptance criteria.
  • Work within a team culture that is driven by quality (user reviews with various AML Business teams, external vendors, and ability to take feedback into improvements for upcoming sprints)
  • Assist the team in meeting their requirements to deliver working software at the end of every 2-week sprint.
  • Ensure compliance with RBC procedures and processes throughout the software development lifecycle.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
  • A strong understanding of technology and financial services industry.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Displays a sense of ownership and exhibits flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness. Working knowledge of both real-time and batch transaction process monitoring and issue response.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or equivalent training and experience. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
  • Working experience of database technologies (SQL), db2, Oracle, TerraData, SQL Server, Working experience in big data and related concepts and technologies.
