What You’ll Be Doing

 

As a Senior Aircraft Cabin Configuration Engineer, you will lead the development of technically robust, commercially competitive aircraft interior modification solutions, supporting the full lifecycle from customer engagement through contract handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) development for modification projects in support of sales and engineering projects

  • Lead and complete technical studies as required during initial scoping and proposal of modification projects

  • Work with engineering functional teams to effectively transition projects from initial engineering studies through proposal phase to executable engineering

  • Respond to requests from Boeing teams such as Sales, Program Management, or Engineering for LOPA development or initial technical studies

  • Identify and define risks, risk mitigations and opportunities during LOPA development phases

  • Develop engineering solutions that balance customer requirements and modification impacts to provide a cost and time effective solution that meets customer expectations

  • Provide technical, business and integration leadership for initial development of modification projects

  • Works under minimal direction. Subject Matter Experts (SME's) within the team for knowledge transfer and share lessons learned

  • Mentor Junior Engineers

  • Identifying and leading improvement initiatives

  • Occasional travel domestically or internationally to airline customers or other Boeing sites

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Minimum 8-years aviation/aerospace industry experience with 5 years within a cabin interior or related commodity design or project management environment

  • Knowledge of commercial aircraft cabin interiors is essential

  • Knowledge of EASA CS25 / FAR 25 requirements applicable to aircraft interiors is highly desirable

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software is highly desirable

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office
