Title: Sr. Accountant
Business Function: Finance
Location: Nashville, TN
The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting and communication of results. The Sr. Accountant will also be responsible for collaborating with the Partner program teams, operational teams and FP&A teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial results. The Sr. Accountant will assist during month end close and create relevant supporting documentation for journal entry preparation and will have opportunities to drive improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Prepare required journal entries and account reconciliations during monthly close cycles and assist in the compilation and presentation of the month end information.
· Provide general support during the month-end close process.
· Identify and recommend process changes and best practices needed to drive appropriate accounting and/or achieve efficiencies.
· Build relationships with business partners and meet regularly to ensure business activities are reflected in the accounting records.
· Other responsibilities as directed by management which could include ad hoc journal entry preparation, research and analysis across multiple accounting systems, or other miscellaneous processes to support the business needs.- Assist in the compilation of the monthly reporting process by providing insight and analysis into various accounting issues that arise.
- Coordinate audit support for engagements conducted by internal and external auditors.
- Enhance the documentation of key internal controls and procedures.
- Identify best practices and create ideas for process improvements.
- Present results to senior management
- Research and complete special projects as assigned.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, organized, and results oriented.
· Systems aptitude and proficiency in Excel, MS SQL, DAX and financial software.
· Ability to analyze and interpret large sets of data.
· Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP.

Preferred Education and Experience:
- Three+ years of experience in accounting, finance or related field
· Four-year college degree in accounting or related field.
· Systems aptitude and proficiency in Excel, SQL, PowerPoint, DAX and financial software
· Experience with GAAP.
· Strong problem-solving skills, attention to details, organized, and results oriented.
· CPA license
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
No additional certificates, licenses or registrations are required for this position. However, CPA certification and/or continuing advanced Business degree is a plus.
