About the role:
You will be a key member of the accounting team, providing full cycle accounting across our many north American entities. You will be responsible for performing the month end closing process in a timely manner. You will prepare and review monthly variance analysis, for financial statements, account reconciliations, reporting for the global consolidation team and schedules and analysis for accounts receivable. You will provide advice and guidance to the rest of the team, and be a go to person for accounting knowledge and best practices
The Senior Accountant is designated (CPA or equivalent), has at least five years experience in a sizeable and complex corporation and will be primarily responsible for the financial accounting of our North American entities. The Senior Accountant will ensure the highest level of integrity and compliance to all jurisdictional, regulatory and US GAAP requirements.
In this role, you will:
Ensure timely and effective support to all departments/field offices relative to accounting, analysis and controls
Month end closing process – preparing, reviewing, and posting general journal entries
Co-ordinate and liaise with intercompany entities including intercompany statement issuance and issue resolution
Prepare/Review monthly schedules and analysis for accounts receivable/AFDA
Prepare/Review monthly variance analysis on financial statements
Prepare/Review monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
Prepare/Review various monthly and quarterly reports due to the Global consolidation team
Prepare/Review schedules and analysis for deferred rent and demised premises
Assist in the coordination of the half-year, interim, SOX, and year-end audits
Support income as well as indirect tax filings by providing statutory financial information
Assist in the completion of the US Census reports
Research and make recommendations based on US GAAP when required
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and intermediate accountants
Coordinate and prepare audit files
Coordinate and lead accounting related projects/initiatives
What you bring:
CPA designation or equivalent required
5+ years financial accounting experience
2+ years at a Senior Accountant level
Thorough knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (ideally US GAAP)
Experience in a multi-divisional international environment
Accounting experience in a public company is an asset
Displays service excellence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (clients, partners & affiliates)
Strong aptitude for streamlining and improving processes
Effectively communicates with colleagues in a multicultural, multinational environment.

Approximate Salary Range for Role: $86,609 to $94,000
Please note, there will also be a contract completion bonus paid out upon successful completion of the outlined contract duration.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
