St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is searching for a self-motivated, driven individual with a background in biological or biomedical science who is looking for an exciting and rare opportunity as a Senior Academic Recruiter or Academic Recruiter II.

As an Academic Recruiter, you will work with a team to primarily meet the postdoctoral recruitment needs of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by developing and implementing effective recruiting strategies. This position requires travel to scientific conferences, meetings, and career fairs to identify promising candidates. It also involves online sourcing, developing advertising materials, and assisting with the planning of onsite recruitment events, such as the St. Jude National Graduate Student Symposium. The academic recruiter will communicate extensively with candidates and faculty throughout the application process and schedule candidate interview visits.

Job Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of TA programs and processes in line with St. Jude's talent strategy.
- Understand the process from an applicant’s perspective; Develop and deliver a consistent, transparent candidate experience from start to finish.
- Mentor and coach less experienced team members to ensure hiring goals are being met.
- Assist in the development of sourcing plans for complex talent needs and senior positions.
- Manage workforce demands and develop networks to ensure a constant flow of qualified candidates using various tools (e.g., social media, career fairs, agencies, recruiting vendors).
- Attend talent strategy meetings to assess hiring manager’s needs and identify unique skills important to the hiring manager.
- Work as a team member to meet the postdoc recruitment needs of the institution.
- Organize attendance, and participate in conferences/meetings/career fairs both in person and remotely to promote postdoctoral openings and postdoctoral programs at St. Jude.
- Work with SCEO and other agencies to develop first-class advertising materials for recruiting purposes.
- Organize special recruitment events such as the St. Jude National Graduate Student Symposium.
- Manage workforce demands and develop networks and sourcing strategies to ensure a constant flow of qualified candidates using various tools (e.g., social media, and LinkedIn).
- Cultivate positive relationships with principal investigators, postdocs, administrative assistants, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Senior Academic Recruiter:
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or biomedical sciences
- Master's or PhD degree in Biology or Biomedical Sciences preferred
Minimum Experience:
- 4+ years working in an academic research environment or 2+ years in an academic research environment plus 2+ in a talent acquisition role, required
- A PhD will be accepted in lieu of work experience in an academic research environment
- Experience presenting research at a national scientific conference is preferred
- Experience conducting research, performing analysis, and identifying sourcing strategies to generate candidate leads.
- Experience with recruiting and sourcing tools (e.g., web based recruiting tools, HRIS database and/or applicant tracking systems).
- Strong experience using ATS and CRM technology.
- Experience in administration, talent acquisition or event planning is preferred
- Proven performance in earlier role.
Academic Recruiter II:
Minimum Education and/or Training:
- Bachelor's degree in biology or biomedical sciences required
Minimum Experience:
- 2+ years working in an academic research environment is required
- Experience working in scientific recruitment is preferred
- Experience in presenting research at a national conference is preferred
- Experience in event planning and database management is preferred
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $70,720 - $126,880 per year for the role of Senior Academic Recruiter OR Academic Recruiter II for Postdoctoral Talent Acquisition.
