Security Operations Supervisor (Night Shift) 

Reports To 

Senior Manager, Security 

The Job 

The Security Operations Supervisor leads a dedicated shift within the Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring effective communication, rapid incident response, and consistent adherence to procedures. This role serves as Tier 2 support for SOC personnel and is responsible for overseeing all SOC functions during assigned shifts. 

SOC team members provide 24/7 monitoring of operations, support life safety responses, prevent threats, diagnose operational issues, and escalate incidents as needed. The Supervisor ensures operational continuity, team alignment, and high-quality response standards.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide clear and professional communication during routine operations and emergency events. 
  • Monitor operations, surveillance systems, and system logs to identify and report suspicious or abnormal activity. 
  • Ensure timely and effective operational support to internal teams and company partners. 
  • Maintain consistent adherence to SOC procedures, standards, and escalation protocols. 
  • Respond to incidents by mitigating risks, documenting events, and reporting any damages or impacts. 
  • Conduct threat hunting activities to identify vulnerabilities or security gaps. 
  • Support response and recovery efforts to maintain business continuity during incidents or disruptions. 
  • Manage access control requests, create or update credentials, and maintain proper permissions. 
  • Oversee SOC ticketing queues, ensuring timely follow up and resolution. 
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team, with co-workers/ teammates, and leaders across the organization. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  
  • 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in security operations, network operations, emergency operations, access control, or a related operational support environment. 
  • Strong communication skills and accountability. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications. 
  • Ability to work for extended periods and remain focused. 
  • Ability to prioritize decisions using multiple criteria. 
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and interdepartmentally.  
  • Proven track record of mastering new platforms and procedures with minimal supervision. 
  • Consistent adherence to policies, standards, and procedures. 
  • Vigilant, professional, and customer friendly demeanor. 

Preferred 

  • First responder or emergency operations background. 
  • Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification 
  • Experience with Genetec, access control systems, or IP cameras. 
  • CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+ 
  • Familiarity with datacenter environments. 
  • Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) or similar certifications. 
  • Experience using Jira or similar ticketing tools.

Work Environment 
This job is operated in a professional office, warehouse, and data center environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, smartphones, ladders, forklifts, and scissor lifts. While performing these duties, the employee will be exposed to both hot and cold environments. 

Physical Demands  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift to 50 pounds. 

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work  

This is a full‑time, onsite night shift position, Sundays - Thursdays, 10PM - 7AM CST. On-call on weekends, every four weeks.
