Security Operations Manager

Adelaide - 21 Third Avenue Full time

The role

As part of our Business Services group, the Security Operations Manager will provide leadership and operational oversight of the Information Security domain for Saab Australia by helping maintain our Defence Industry Security Partner (DISP) membership and a strong security posture.   The primary focus is on protecting Saab from external and internal threats through the management of incidents, taking a lead role in Saab’s insider risk program, governance of information security, and related authorisation and compliance frameworks.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Liaise with functional areas, delivery units and key stakeholders to provide security advice and guidance to support Saab in meeting its objectives
  • Monitor and analyse the global threat landscape to identify emerging threats, provide timely and accurate threat intelligence in support of incident responses in accordance with Saab’s risk appetite and operational needs
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with government agencies, law enforcement, and industry groups
  • Coordinate and lead security incident response and insider risk programs to ensure the timely identification, investigation, remediation and reporting of security incidents
  • Monitor information security risks with risk owners, conducting regular security reviews to assess and address risks
  • Assess the effectiveness of security controls to ensure compliance with Group-wide standards, regulatory requirements, and meet industry and stakeholder expectations
  • Provide expert guidance and mentorship to the team, uplifting capability, providing clear direction and vision to maintain a high-performance culture
  • Act as Deputy for the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in regional and global security activities and provide high level, strategic support & advice to Executives

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9-day fortnight will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Sound knowledge of IT security technology, architecture, and processes, including information security management systems and industry standards (ISO27001) , DISP, ISM, PSPF & DSPF frameworks.
  • University degree in computer science, natural sciences, or equivalent professional experience, with over 5 years of experience in IT and information security-related fields.
  • Proven experience in developing information security policies and procedures, with a strong track record in supplier management, IT outsourcing, and defining/monitoring contractual security provisions.
  • Ability to cope with high workloads and exercise independence, judgment, and initiative to make decisions with a strong risk management mindset.
  • Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally when required.

As a defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV2 level or can gain one, currently holding minimum NV1. Information including past and present nationality and citizenship may be requested to check eligibility for access to materials controlled under various export control regimes, including ITAR.
